What an overstatement. The arc was 102 chapters long, there are sizable series with a solid beginning middle and end to their stories, covering multiple arcs, which don't even require 102 chapters. There are tons of reasons to hate Dressrosa, for the pacing alone. Reading that arc weekly was torture.
Dressrosa arc is multiple arcs integrated into one:
You could argue that the Colosseum plot is it's own arc.

FMI easily

LRLL is one of the most fun arcs I have ever watched I loved it
Amazon Lily was great
Punk Hazard is very overhated by the fandom and a decent arc too albeit the pacing is kinda messy

FMI meanwhile is just straight putrid garbage

If Dressrosa was 60 chapters it would be one of the best One Piece arcs, since Law/Doffy scenes are elite in the arc. Unfortunately way too much bloat in that arc to look past it. It's a tough read and even a tougher watch.
Lmao didn't One Pace cut off 60% of the content from the anime? The manga pacing was already bad but good lord the anime pacing was so bad it made me drop it and never pick it up again. I had watched 650 episodes of the series and preferred it over the manga but that arc was too painfully slow for me to continue

Ngl i disgregards everyones opinion who thinks long ring was controversial/not necessary
Low Iq indicator
To be fair, I think Long Ring Island Arc hate comes from anime only watchers because the anime removed Aokiji from Long Ring Island and put him slightly further along elsewhere, meaning that Foxy is the sole antagonist of that arc and then Foxy got used gratuitously multiple times for anime filler. Lol.

You don't see how 102 chapters which includes focus on tontattas, Irrelevant coliseum fighters, only to offpanel Gear 4 vs awakened Doflamingo is a problem?

I mean objectively 102 chapters for a non series finale arc for a single Warlord defeat is a problem. And this already came following a 46 chapter setup arc in PH.

Dressrosa was the beginning of the end for One Piece imo. This is where the bloating really started to crank up to the max. That arc had no business being more than 60 chapters max.
The real killer comparison to make is that the entire Summit War Saga, all of it, is 108 chapters. This is a saga with 5 arcs (Saboady, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford and Post-War). Dressrosa, a typical beat a Warlord arc, had absolutely no right to match the entire Summit War Saga for length. Fruity blonde Crocodile 2.0 is not that feckin important a character to justify such length. Lol.

Dressrosa anime made me quit watching One Piece too. Toei should legit be sent to the ICC for that war crime, the pacing was pure torture.

What really got me back then was that every episode had like a 5 minute long recap of the entire arc so far, the episode preceding it and then you got your mandated opening and outro songs.

I swear that in a 25 minute episode, you got less than 19 minutes of actual new anime episode. Lel.

I think it's a universal fact that most people who dropped the One Piece anime, did so in Dressrosa. I know I did, and everyone ik irl who watched One Piece did the same. That is how god awfully paced that arc was and the anime made it that much worse.

Doffy and Law hard carried that arc. If Oda screwed up those two then Dressrosa would easily be the worst arc of One Piece. Lol.

I dont watch the anime very much besides some sporadic episodes but i think visually Dressrosa is the worst arc in the manga

The paneling sometimes actually deterred me from enjoying chapters, especially the collessum part and later the all out fights
