Speculations Did the God of War, not Imu, defeat Joyboy? Did he freeze him?

Imu somehow brought down Joyboy, possibly not in a fair fight. When Emmet released a little bit of Joyboy's Haki, Imu trembled.

Not the face someone who won based on superior strength. More like someone who, even after 800 years is still afraid.

Imu doesn't like doing the fighting himself anyway

Perhaps he had someone else do the fighting for him. Perhaps he manipulated the Loki of the Void Century to fight Nika. We recently learned about the God of War, someone who was Nika's equal, just like Loki is Luffy's. They fought, maybe the God of War won in the end.

Loki and Luffy already argue alot, and want to fight each other

The lightning didn't do anything to Luffy, but his ice would have worked.

The God of War also wielded Ragnir, also could do Ice attacks. Is this why the mysterious Strawhat Imu keeps in Pangea Castle is frozen?

Did the God of War freeze Joyboy, after Imu had turned them up against each other?

Well, Joyboy, specifically, probably can't still be alive. Because Luffy has the Nika Fruit. And all signs point to Joyboy also having had the Nika Fruit. So, if Joyboy was just frozen alive, the Nika Fruit would never have reincarnated and gone on the run in the first place.

Plus...Joyboy probably wasn't large enough to wear that Giant Frozen Strawhat. We saw during Emet's flashback in Chapter 1122 that Joyboy seemed to be...vaguely human-sized. Scaling in One Piece is unreliable, at best. But, he didn't seem to be Ancient Giant or Giant sized. Maybe a particularly tall human, at best.

Could it be a member of Joyboy's crew, instead? The Chapter 1138 Mural does show some sort of Ancient Giant fighting alongside someone Nika-ish, possibly during Joyboy's time. Maybe everyone on Joyboy's crew wore Strawhats, as a show of solidarity, or something? The only problem there is that, personally, I think that the Nidhogg Fruit has been dormant for too long. If several generations of Giants no longer remember what it was or what it can do, I think that points to the Nidhogg Fruit not having a User in over a 1000 years, at least. Before the Void Century happened.

Now...Nika might be a different story. We know the War God and the Sun God had some sort of rivalry. So, that gives the original Nidhogg a chance and motive to use Ratatoskr's ice powers. Remember, it's the Squirrel that has the ice powers, not Nidhogg, supposedly. So, Ratatoskr may have gotten his revenge on Nika, right before transferring himself into the Hammer. Though, that would be odd, given how chill (heh) Ragnir has been with Luffy in Gear 5. And Nika could still be alive, but also inspire the creation of the Nika Fruit. We still don't know what rules the "Gods" operate under, so they don't necessarily need a Devil Fruit of their own. So, Imu's Giant Frozen Strawhat might have more to do with Nika than with Joyboy.

...Or it could be something completely different. Oda could still throw us a twist with all this. There could be someone else that we don't know about, that connects some gaps in history.

But, if I had to guess, I think that Frozen Strawhat likely has something to do with Nika, instead of Joyboy. But, we'll see.

Nika and God of war were most likely friendly rivals like roger and WB in first world.

I am not sure if there was anyone to carry the GOW title in second world where Joyboy and imu existed.

Nika - Joyboy - Luffy

Earth God - Imu -

God of war - - Current loki
