The story is written by ONE (the guy that does One Punch Man). It's a cool twist on the usual battle manga. And the art gets bonkers lmao especially when this dude appears

The only difference here is nothing implies Kizaru was even close to going all out in killing Luffy, I would say him feeding Luffy would be a clue.

Doesn’t change the fact that Kizaru as an admiral should have the same standing in an arc that a Yonko would but he got dropped both literally and figuratively from the arc and replaced almost immediately after his debut. He had what, 4 chapters of action before he was brain punched and after that he looked worse with Luffy tagging him and later grabbing him, mental nerf or not

Why would he have the same standing? Luffy just defeated the supposed strongest Yonkou an arc ago to surpass his limits and establish himself as a Yonkou.

You're telling me if a Kaidou showed up again or Big Mom showed up in Egghead, that Luffy would go through another major battle for no reason? You've failed to pick up on Oda's writing completely then. Oda doesn't write fights between two characters on the same level because it would look cool. He gives two shits about drawing fights. There has to be more to it.

I already told you why Kizaru could not be that guy, and it's directly tied to Akainu. If Akainu were not a character in the story that needs to be addressed, then maybe Oda would be more comfortable showcasing Kizaru on Egghead, he only gave us crumbs for both him and Kuzan in the same arc. It is very obvious he is saving the all out showcase for Akainu, he doesn't want to showcase anything from the Admirals that would get in the way of his reveals.
