Kaido doesn’t actually get a lot stronger when he drinks, that’s just Oda wanting to add some comedy to the (boring) fight

Not sure if it was anything more than the unconscious variety Luffy used pre-sabaody and on Amazon Lily, Oda draws kaido with thick CoC lines the next page hitting Law but does nothing with Zoro's Asura.

Kaido never once said zoro used coc coating.
Nor is it shown as coc coating.
It had ZERO coc indicators and looks nothing like zoro using coc coating which is shown the same arc.

He was canonically nerfing himself against trashmato though. Base Luffy > Yamato is canon

I don’t remember any panel of Kaido acting drunk against G5 Luffy.

Didn’t Kaido sober up when he started to get serious against the Scabbards? Like I said, the drunken mode stuff was just some nonsense Oda wrote in to make the fight less boring, Oda himself doesn’t even take it seriously since Kaido is acting completely sober against all his other serious opponents.
