General & Others Are we happy with the Narutozation of OP?

One Piece was always more about the "Grand Adventure" and built up the "Will of D" and "Void Century" mysteries early on in the series. But the "Fate" and "Chosen One" are the things that people hate. We had people made of Sand in a Desert as the first big arc in the Grand Line and a guy made out of Lightning.

Fate and Destiny and all that jazz was always one of the core themes of One Piece.

I guess what's throwing people off is they though Oda would approach these themes in a romantic/symbolic way or something while so far he's doing it in a very generic way

But the destiny /reincarnation stuff was definitely planned from day 1

naruto went from dark, edgy to wholesome melodramatic slop. one piece went from funny wholesome to more violent and edgy, still funny, maybe even more so but in a twisted way. for example gert ripping sommers apart and watching how his body reattaches, comparing it to magnets. even though he regenerates, i think he feels the usual amount of pain. naruto would have been better if itachi and gaara stayed psychopathic murderers and didn't turn into saints.

Oda always told stories with Fate and destiny The only difference is that he took the shittier approach

It's not that someone who fits the prophecy that appeared, but instead the specific person the prophecy told is appearing

800 years ago it was set in stone Luffy specifically would appear, instead of someone who could free the slaves, as a something hoped for
