The SHs winning in Elbaf just doesn’t make sense.
Until Wano, Kaido was built up as the strongest in the world. Then Luffy beat Kaido and became yonko. In Egghead, the SHs did run from the WG, but tbh neither Saturn nor Kizaru seemed to be that big of a threat to Luffy. It was really just the case that the SHs were outmatched by a force of 6 top tiers.
With Elbaf you likewise have a situation where the HKs all got their ass beat. Even Imunko, who was legitimately portrayed as strong.
The SHs need a humbling. If they win and leave Elbaf with all of the giants as their dickriders, it basically kills all tension. Hence I think Luffy likely faces his biggest L of the post skip in Elbaf.
We know that typically when Luffy first faces a major villain, he gets beaten. Kaido one shot him multiple times, Kata initially low diffed him, etc. Imu should be no different, as he was a rival of Joyboy himself.
Furthermore given how pivotal Elbaf is in the One Piece world, Luffy gaining the allegiance of the entire island just shouldn’t happen. He already has Hajrudin and the NGWs as well as Loki on his side. All of Elbaf would just make him too OP.
I think much like Kid and Law in egghead, the SHs face a crushing defeat in Elbaf. Yet the sunny remains intact and they are able to barely escape.
Most of Elbaf falls to the WG, but the NGWs and Loki make it out. As does Biblo and the Ohara books. Lilith might build a secret lab or something on Elbaf, hiding under the noses of the WG.
In any case, a loss in Elbaf would not only drive Luffy to become PK in order to liberate Elbaf. But it would also drive Loki and Hajrudin as well. Hajrudin would go to unite the giant kingdoms in order to try to mount a resistance to the WG, while Loki and Ragnir will awaken the Galley La.
This could set the stage for a battle between giants EoS with Hajrudin’s kingdom + Galley La vs. Domi Reversi’d Elbaf.
