Just cracked 30. I wanna go back :josad:
I am going to enter 30 later this year. I don't want to enter 30s :josad::josad:
I've turned 38 about a month ago, no worries, 30's are good overall!
Been reading the manga for at least 18 years, so yeah, kinda grew up with it...
@Impact mad respect for still enjoying OP, you give us hope!

And to those who are like "elite are the ones who stopped reading and moved on with their lives" - nah, not necessarily, if manga is not your obsession and you have your life more or less sorted out, what's the harm in a little fun hobby? For me it's always such a conversation starter whenever I meet new people and start explaining to them that I read manga, what is the difference between comics and manga, etc. etc.

Yesterday it was my 29th birthday
Caught up to this manga 10 years ago yes asking how it was for people who manage to keep up with this when there was barely internet :DeepThink:
Well, sites like onemanga, mangastream, mangafox, all disappeared, but other sites have been created. Same with the forums. But now we also have the official Shuiesha site which is kinda cool! Forums are still at risk tho.

Comics are confusing as hell sometimes especially Marvel/DC

Superman is alive in one comic line

Dead in another

And randomly Russian in another

Its like every new comic is just a wild fanfiction of the original run
Oh yes, I don't like comics as much as I like manga. I still read a few about Batman (e.g., Hush, The Long Halloween), but mostly because I really like Batman a lot. The media itself is meh, every page is too cluttered, reading is quite complicated, and the fact that both DC & Marvel had a ton of reboots and both went with multiverse concepts, it does indeed feel like there is only fanfiction over fanfiction.
On the bright side, everything is canon. You want Batman marry Catwoman? There's a universe for that. You want Aquaman to be relevant? I'm sure there's a planet Earth something-something that is fully covered by water and Aquaman is the mightiest hero there. You want no mutants? Well, MCU has been that until they acquired the rights, ahahhaha.

Both manga and comic industries have their own shortcomings, but at least manga is more of "story starts, story finished".

😂 yeah whenever I recommend comics to people I never recommend a DC or Marvel comic I usually recommend image comics those are more straight forward story line with a clear beginning and ending

Some of my favorites being invincible, Saga, XO Man of War and Red Sonya

I quite like webcomics, but they take forever to end. The Order of the Stick is by far the most influential one given that thanks to it I got into D&D and met my partner who I am with for 5 years by now and the comic is still ongoing 😄 I found it when I was still in high school, and the story is amazing imo (the art is a bit weird, but intentionally so).

I am from Ukraine, so it was impossible to buy anything manga-related until I was already in my 20's! But it was still fun. Thanks to manga forums I got to see the Niagara falls. I was talking to a girl from NY state over the forum, then I had a trip to NYC and we agreed to meet. I rode like 8 hours across the state in the train, she picked me in a city which was still 1 hour drive from her home city and I spent a weekend over her place! Wild times. My English wasn't that good then, and she's been showing me around, letting me meet her family, and I could understand like 70% of what they were saying, lol. Then her brother-in-law (I think) was like "why do you show your friend nothing but us? We're boring. Let's go see the Niagara falls." And it was an 1-1.5 hours ride, and I got to experience the amazing natural wonder. I am not even sure if I still got the pictures, my camera got stolen since then, but the memories are still vivid. Fun times!
