Good Day my fellow Worst Degenerates Yoho here to pose yet another question

What was the anime that got you into anime, now just to circumvent any confusion I'm not talking what was the first anime you ever watched i mean what was the anime that made you go into a rabbit hole and watch more and more

For example my first anime was either Yu Yu Hakusho or One Piece which ever came on tv first that night

But the anime that truly got me into anime was this hilarious raunchy comedy with hidden romantic elements called Heavens Lost Property

For me, it would be Detective Conan. Same vibes as one piece to me when it comes to unsolved mysteries.

And the Manga is also still ongoing, although it doesn't have a weekly release like one piece.

They also have like 28 movies right now. Some of them with a more serious plot were cool to watch in the theaters(in sub). You could really feel the tension when the protagonists were in dangerous situations.

The Voice Actors added to that tension great villain voices.

I'd seen Pokemon before on TV but never knew it was "anime".

When I was around 12, my older brother had a laptop where he'd pirated a "cartoon" that was just recently launched in North America called Case Closed (Detective Conan in Japan), and Slam Dunk.

I used to steal his laptop when he wasn't around and watch them. So Slam Dunk and Case Closed got me hooked. Before the end of the year I was caught up to the anime, discovered manga, caught up to all the popular manga online, etc..

When I caught up to the One Piece manga around 2005-2006, the only version I could find was the one where they called Kuma "Bisoromi Bear" and Doffy "Tanjihado Lofulamingo" lol

Kill Me Baby lol. And Jojo.

I mean I'd watched bits of DBZ, Naruto, Pokemon, Bakugan etc before but the one that I really liked enough to remember was KMB because it was funny and very different to what I was used to.

Then after a while around 2020 I started seeing Jojo references a lot, especially in TF2 SFMs. And I decided to check it out, found it to be dope and got more into anime/manga as a result.
