Not really. One Piece is simply very big, so you will see the reference and influence much more. Perhaps Oda doesn't shy away as much as other to show that he is paying hommage or use an influence. But all these references and influences mixed together form of coherent all. This is why its not accurate to point an excessif amount of referencing here. One Piece shines precisely because every bits feels unique, even through influences.

I suppose so, but my original comment was mostly a counter to the dude claiming that "Oda doesn't have time to look at so many things to get inspiration from", which was a very obviously false statement since One Piece has a TON of references in it.

Yeah, don't worry, my post was not directed to someone I believe. It's more of a general statement that fan tend to make about One Piece.

Also something to note is that most fan here never lived with an asian culture. Which is why we feel that Oda is borrowing a lot from Naruto here and other manga. But naruto is mostly borrowing a lot on the japanese folklore. It's just something to keep in mind

way too much melodrama later the scale becomes too big and the lightspeed zipping around shit gets dumb, it seems the author picked the final war to pick off characters and it seemed lazy

Both Naruto and One Piece are goated. There is only ONE big "mistake" (even tho it's more like a lazy writing) for Naruto and it's in the ending. Let's stop the hate come on.
