That wouldn’t make sense. Imu had considered Lily to be on his side the whole time, until Cobra revealed him the truth. He even thought that her role in spreading the Poneglyphs had been just a mistake.

I think this is not about powers. But Vivi is a copy of Lily, which is why Imu wants Vivi. He wants to turn her into an immortal wife, so he will finally feel happy in his lonely, immortal life. And I believe the marriage will happen in the last arc of One Piece, and only then Imu will be defeated
