Yes, I think Shanks will appear, but he will not save Luffy from Imu. Instead, he will help Luffy recover and tell him to train in Heaven's Realm. After that, Luffy will face Shanks in the battle, as a test of his training. Shanks wouldn't want to allow Luffy to follow Imu in Marijoise. Which is why this "test" will also be a serious battle. Because even after training, Shanks will say that Luffy is not ready.

I fully agree. The time is not the same in Elbaph and in the outside world. Maybe Jarul called Shanks at the start of the issues with the Holy Knights and he will come in the next chapters. Luffy & Loki will need someone else to fight Imu if Gaban is K.O

He might. But personally I think the "don't overstay your welcome" at the beginning of Elbaph was referring to the giants famous temper and something related to Shanks. At the end of the day its still an island allied with Red Hair, and the straw hat grand fleet (well, barto) opened hostilities against Shanks. If he trains Luffy, it wont be as a straight training arc, but as a trial to overcome. So if he rolls up, he might save Luffy only to formally declare war and have the warning come to its conclusion with the giants chasing the straw hats to sea
