Idk right now, Akainu is just corrupted, Marine. In Marinford, he had his aura, but then he became corrupt, was thinking too much about his name and reputation, instead of doing things properly.

The timeline of when SHs vs Marines/BBPs/RHPs/CG(?)/WG all happen is pretty unclear tbh. Although I'd prefer Wings vs Admirals to happen, it might honestly be easier for Oda to just matchup the 4 Admirals with the Yonko (Luffy vs Akainu, BB vs Kizaru, Shanks vs Ryo, Midhawk vs Fattora) and then have a Yonko battle royale on Lodestar or Laugh Tale, and end with the SHs and Revs plus allies Loki, Momo, Yamato, Shirahoshi, Loki, etc) vs the World Government.
Luffy said that he would give up on becoming PK because of Sakazuki, so it makes sense imo that he would beat Sakazuki before achieving that dream. Sakazuki also probably doesn´t really have connection to Luffy´s like.... second dream retcon Joyboy shit, because while he´s a villain, I don´t think you could say he´s really someone who´s like catagorically into ¨oppression¨ in the same way that the Gorosei and Imu are. He would just want to prevent Luffy from inspiring pirates around the world as the PK
I don´t think Shanks or Mihawk will fight Admirals lol, but I wouldn´t mind if Oda wrote the story like that, since as it is, he keeps characters who aren´t the SHP or BBP out of doing anything meaningful against eachother.

I agree this will be a good battle and arc overall.
I'm a huge Akainu fan, but I always thought that he is not suitable for the final villain, as well as BB. For a long time, I was thinking that Gorosei would be the final villains, but the problem with Gorosei was the fact that all 5 of them were equal. But after Imu's introduction, it became obvious to me that Imu will be the final villain. As for Akainu, I think he will stand as the main Imu's subordinate during the Final War. Akainu is a fanatical soldier who wants to purge evil. And like in WOW, Scarlet Crusade was corrupted and led by a Demon, I believe half of the Marrine organization will be on Imu's side, and will even get demonic powers from him. Would be really interesting if Hibari is indeed Akaunu's daughter, or if Akainu was the one who created the Sword organization, which in the end will fight against Imu and be loyal to WG Marines.
Akainu can be connected to the endgame prophecy. In Ragnarok Mythology, one of the final "bosses" was Surtr, the Magma Giant. I believe Akainu will become Hell Dog Surtr after getting buffed by Imu.

Not a horrible idea, but ultimately, Sakauzki isn´t really a Tennrybuto, that means whatever Imu´s goals are, they probably don´t really involve him, and Imu probably doesn´t really respect Sakazuki. Sure, he could DR him, but then Sakazuki loses all his personality, shit talking etc. I would find it a bit unsatisfying
I think giving Sakazuki his own short arc to focus on him, while Garling is portrayed as Imu´s main underling would be the best way to handle it, at least imo.

I don't think that Akainu will become DR, but I believe he will get covenant, officially joining HK ranks, or equal to HK. I believe Sommers and Kilingham will be replaced by Admirals who will decide to stay loyal to WG, such as GreenBull(he already said that he wants to serve CD)
The idea here is that when you hate something so much that you call evil, you become blind, and in the end, a fanatical desire to purge the world will make you the real villain. Because your personal agenda will prevent you from understanding who the real villain.
