You’re approaching Loki’s character in a way that Oda never intended. For one, if Loki isn’t joining the crew then what makes you believe Zoro and Sanji need to surpass him? The narrative has set the precedent that Z/S need to be the strongest in Luffy’s crew. Not that they need to be Luffy’s strongest allies period

I agree that Loki probably will never join, but I still feel like Sanji and Zoro will become stronger, that's it.

You´re acting like this is some accident of history lol. No one was willing to fight Imu, every top pirate of the last generation knew about him through GV, and Rocks obviously went to his castle previously. They just knew that they stood no chance, and Imu found nobody worthy of his time

Loki is about to do better than that by pushing Imu to at least....mid diff? Maybe? Even low diff would technically be the best we´ve seen on screen,while being nerfed to some extent, and should have some role in a rematch with Imu.

Zoro was the only one that can give Kaido a scar because he uses swords, right? So you can't make this comparison and Oda knew it too. So in the same chapter he made Zoro and Luffy attack Kaido and only Luffy was the one to put Kaido on his knees. Same we can say for Yamato some chapters later.

Yes slashing kaido and scarring him is great, but Luffy/Yamato can't scar Kaido. Oda made Zoro says that line to put a line between him and Luffy/Yamato in that specific moment.

Ok, but what I am saying is that even though pre-KoH Zoro looked "worse" than Yamato globally speaking, he did something aof great value showing he wasn't far behind.
This time Zoro showed to be far behind.

Not to mention, Loki's plot already shows he's above the likes of Roger, a level Zoro cannot reach in one arc.
