With Oda fake deaths collection you really think he would kill Kaido that easily? By lava? With this being his introduction?

With Oden that is just a human surviving being boiled you think Kaido never tried that shit himself? I bet your ass that he tried everything. Throwing himself into lava. Going deep into ocean. Even flying outer space. Nothing killed him. Kaido IS STILL ALIVE!!!

Kaido may be alive, but I believe the truly reason why Kaido may have died in the LAVA, is because it‘s the first time where he was actually beaten into an unconscious pulp.

Even if Kaido has the fish fish fruit, I don‘t believe he would be immune to survive underwater. The reason why he didn‘t jump into water, is plot otherwise Kaido wouldn‘t exist, he truly believed in being beaten by Joyboy + addition the introduction is stupid from narrative pov.

How and when was he beaten 7 times? The moment DR Rocks kicked him into the mountains? He literally was on his legs the next chapter.

I think it was left ambiguous because Big Mom survived, but Kaido died. Kaido is the one who *really* had an antagonistic relationship with the SHP, while Big Mom being beaten into retirement because she's old anyway is kind of believable.

We even have the beast pirates in Wano, who could have reunited with him if he was still alive.... but not really. And Shanks/Aramaki don't sense him either.

He died in magma because he couldn't defend himself from it with Haki.....and I guess the dragon skins don't protect him from that?

I still think he and Big Mom will come back and begrudgingly support Luffy, one way or another.
When the "original" Yonko back Luffy up, we'll know he is King.

Kaido respects strenght.
Big Mom might be shriveled up because she used some years of her lifespan against Law and Kidd, and she was no young lady already. She'll still impose some (inverse) respect. But formal authorithy of her empire should pass along to Katakuri or something.

He's probably not dead but it's unlikely he'll have any role in the future, Oda tends to write defeated villains out of the story rather than kill them.

This belief is really starting to bug me because it just show that people don't care about the narration of One Piece.

Narratively, why do you think Kaido and Big Mom were both put in a magmatic chamber before a gigantic explosion?

Well let me tell you:

It's because Kaido and Big Mom are BOTH considered equal to natural calamities, one being a hurricane, the other being thunder.

What Oda did here, is a return to the natural order. In other word, Luffy, Law and Kid punished Kaido and Big Mom and send them back to the "natural" hell they came from.

This panel:

Is a destruction panel, a desintegration of the physical form, to create this:

Thus, Luffy returned Kaido to nature and nature answer by taking Kaido back and declaring Luffy the victor. This, is the narration of the DEATH of Kaido and Big Mom, symbolic AND physical.

So when you or the fanbase try to explain us that "somehow, they lived"... you literally scrap the beauty and writing of this moment away. You render these few pages meaningless.

This moment is a Dragon Ball like desintegration, it is meant to represent the end of both of these character, an end that can only come from the most powerfull force on the planet.

There is absolutely no reason to bring Kaido or Big Mom back to life or have them interact. It would be really damaging to the story to actually bring them back physically.

Now this doesn't mean they won't. As I theorized, we might go to hell, we might literally stumb upon these falks once more. But it won't be the same type of character.

I always find it strange that Oda has never refered to this topic in like 4 years now. Neither in the manga nor in any SBS.
If Kaido or BM are dead, why does he not just onfirm it? If they are alive it would be strange that this would go just unnoticed in the One Piece world. Even when they are not Yonkos anymore.
