i'm reading the absolute dc comics since i finally found a good site for reading comics, starting with absolute flash (i know this is considered a bad one or even the worst one, but, i don't really care, it's the one that grabbed my attention first alongside martian manhunter)
now i don't know much about flash (besides the teen titans version of kid flash), so i can't say i like or hate him compared to other versions of flash, but as of issue 4 i think this comic is solid. i really like his design here.
if i had to rank them, though:

Absolute Martian Manhunter
Absolute Flash
Absolute Wonder Woman
Absolute Superman
Absolute Green Lantern
Absolute Batman
AGL might be above Absolute Superman, but all of these designs are good in my opinion.
I like the Absolute line's concept. It's about time they started making use of all those multiverses and stuff instead of shoving everything into one piddling continuity.

Abs. Manhunter has your seal of approval? I might check it out then, it looks very interesting, like a trippy JoJo in some ways.

Also I hear Black Adam is now in Absolute Supes run.

I'd say Absolute Flash is a 6/10, maybe 7 if I'm being generous, mostly because it seems to be picking up with the two latest issues and I really love Flash's design here (even though most other people seem to hate it, but, whatever, it's my personal opinion on it).
Absolute Martian Manhunter on the other hand is a 9/10, arguably a 10/10, but I'm waiting for the last two issues before I can say that. One of the best things I've seen in terms of the art, and the characters are a lot of fun. The dynamic between John and the Martian is very interesting, the designs of the Martian and Despero/Despair-The-Zero are amazing (although I already said in my other post that the Martian has the best design out of the Absolute cast), and it manages to be extremely profound while still not feeling pretentious or unnecessarily flashy. It's still got humor in it to balance out the deeper, darker moments, and I really appreciate that.

From all of these i just checked Absolute Batman, which is pretty cool, i felt a new fresh on Batman's universe in a long time. Liked the Absolute version of Catwoman too.

They cooked on Absolute Superman/Batman/WW/Martina Manhunter designs while they shit on Green Lantern and Flash designs lol
why do people hate the design for green lantern and flash so much

Green Lantern doesn't even has uniform lol and Flash's just using Mizuni sneakers? Lmao

It's not even a properly design, it's just a "modern" visual style trying to apeal for tennagers

Looks like that envolves Miles Morales suit:
I don't know, was The Flash ever the type of character to have a real complex and crazy design? I feel like this outfit isn't doing anything wrong considering how previous Flash designs look. Even if you say they're just doing it to appeal to teenagers more, I'd say that makes sense because Wally himself is a teenager here.
Green Lantern is fair though. I honestly didn't see how strange her design was until I really took the time to look at it and examine it. Definitely the weakest design here, which is sad because she would look great in an actual uniform.

How is Absolute Supes like?

I keep hearing about them making him "go back to his roots" as Golden Age Superman.

What's that about? Is he more brutal, more preachy, less preachy, more edgy etc

Flash always had a simple but elegant appeal imo.

New suit is okay but a bit too unrecognizable.

GL seems a bit plain.

I can love the design despite it being a deviation from the usual Flash design formula since it is the Absolute verse and most of the Absolute Designs are vastly different from their usual selves. So if anything, Absolute Flash is one of the closest to his usual designs.

I guess it's a matter of how different it can be while still being recognizable.

Supes, Wondy and MM are pretty big changes but they have that vibe, that feel to them. Like it's an AU version but at the same time you know it's them.

Flash is not a character I am so familiar with, so idk tbh. But at first glance I don't know that I'd figure out it was him.

@Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier I feel like Marvel/DC comics would be a lot better if they weren’t retarded with the powercreep. A hero like Superman should be the entry point to planet level, with planet level heroes/villains being very rare, and characters beyond that being treated like a special event. It’s just so uninteresting when such a large chunk of the cast can casually destroy planets
While we're on this topic, I was arguing with my friends on Discord earlier about how I think Superman is the most popular and iconic superhero and they said Batman, Spider-Man and Iron Man are more popular than him.
Am I tripping or was that not an incredibly stupid statement? Tell me I'm not the only one that thinks Superman is actually the most popular and iconic superhero in history?
Spiderman is obviously the most famous superhero.
There's no way he's the most famous lol
Superman is THE hero. He's argaubly the most famous comic character in history.
Not to mention he's the blueprint for so many other characters, even if they're typically parody characters like Metro Man and Homelander.
If you ask someone on the street to name a superhero, I guarantee you 9 times out of 10 they'll say Superman before they say anyone else.
Spiderman has the highest selling movies and video games for a reason. Batman might have Spiderman beat at tv shows though.
Batman, Spider Man are more popular for sure

No contest there
Superman is the most well-known superhero, Batman or Spider-Man are the most popular.
no they're not.

"most well-known" "most popular"
You might be right, but Superman is more popular because, again, he was the blueprint for a TON of things. I'm currently using a pfp of a character that was made to be essentially another Superman, for example. Now obviously Martian Manhunter is different from Superman especially with newer versions of him like Absolute Martian Manhunter (which is a fabulous comic by the way) making him more of his own character, but my point still stands that he was originally just Superman but slightly different.
Superman is just far more influential than every other superhero, and he's one of the first superheroes, preceding Spiderman by, if I recall correctly, 30 years. Yes Spiderman and Batman get more content, partially because they're more interesting to write, but when it comes down to who's known as the quintessential superhero, Superman will always be above them. Iconography and influence play a massive role into these things, it's the exact same reason as to why people consider Dragon Ball one of the most popular animes in history. Some animes might get more content, and there'll be animes that momentarily surpass it in popularity, but it'll always circle back to Dragon Ball in the end. You'll never see as many children talking about Domain Expansions or Sharingans or Spirit Guns or whatever other cool anime techniques, compared to how many talk about going Super Saiyan and using a Kamehameha.
Not really, "well-known" and "popular" aren't really the same thing, One refers to how much people know about you, and the other is how much people actually like you and, in this case, are willing to consume your media. (Donald Trump is far more well-known than he is popular, for example.)
Batman and Spiderman are more popular than Superman, have you never heard the common criticism of people calling superman "boring" or bland, something you don't see with the other two? Batman or Spiderman generally move people more, which is why their movies earn higher at the box office, why their comics consistently outsell superman's, and why they sell more merchandise.
Alright, fair enough, he isn't more "popular" than them. But I do still believe he's more "well known" than them.
I would say batman is more popular than superpam, then comes superman in second and spiderman in third place imo
This is the case I think

Everyone knows about Superman. He’s the superhero

But very few people will ever say that he’s their favorite superhero or they’re on the edge of their seats waiting for his next movie

Well relative to Batman or Spiderman anyway. Those 2 have the most hyped movies/shows/canon and non canon material by far

Iron Man kinda sits in a weird spot. He’s a good feature hero but he doesn’t get a lot of solo stuff anymore
Zoomers and millenials don't give a fuck about superman, they didnt even watch his movies growing up

unlike spiderman

What’s your take on the subject

:endthis:
Alright then.

Superman "created" the superhero genre, so there's no doubt that he's one of the most iconic ficcional characters of all time.

The issue here is, during these 90+ years of history, Superman suffered a very lot of downfalls in popularity, not only today, but even since always lol. During the 40s ~ 50s, Shazam outsaled Superman. Even during the 90s teenagers were more interested on Spawn than Superman, during a time, Superman was considered a old people comics.

What i mean is, we are talking about a generational trait, and what the new gen is interested. We could even argue Black Panther or Deadpool are more popular than Superman today.

Also, the lack of product is a massive factor too.
Before James Gunn Superman, it's been 12 years with no Superman solo movie.

So yeah, even being the greatest superhero of all time, his popularity decreased, mainly by DC comics fault who constantly glazes Batman
