I always find it strange that Oda has never refered to this topic in like 4 years now. Neither in the manga nor in any SBS.
If Kaido or BM are dead, why does he not just onfirm it? If they are alive it would be strange that this would go just unnoticed in the One Piece world. Even when they are not Yonkos anymore.
Key point is what King and Queen were still doing at Udon?

This belief is really starting to bug me because it just show that people don't care about the narration of One Piece.

Narratively, why do you think Kaido and Big Mom were both put in a magmatic chamber before a gigantic explosion?

Well let me tell you:

It's because Kaido and Big Mom are BOTH considered equal to natural calamities, one being a hurricane, the other being thunder.

What Oda did here, is a return to the natural order. In other word, Luffy, Law and Kid punished Kaido and Big Mom and send them back to the "natural" hell they came from.

This panel:

Is a destruction panel, a desintegration of the physical form, to create this:

Thus, Luffy returned Kaido to nature and nature answer by taking Kaido back and declaring Luffy the victor. This, is the narration of the DEATH of Kaido and Big Mom, symbolic AND physical.

So when you or the fanbase try to explain us that "somehow, they lived"... you literally scrap the beauty and writing of this moment away. You render these few pages meaningless.

This moment is a Dragon Ball like desintegration, it is meant to represent the end of both of these character, an end that can only come from the most powerfull force on the planet.

There is absolutely no reason to bring Kaido or Big Mom back to life or have them interact. It would be really damaging to the story to actually bring them back physically.

Now this doesn't mean they won't. As I theorized, we might go to hell, we might literally stumb upon these falks once more. But it won't be the same type of character.
You the one who least understand One Piece. Luffy never killed anyone. Pell back at Alabasta survived a much bigger explosion than Pedro and Ashura Doji did despite being much stronger and more resistance than him. Again, Oda is the king of fake deaths. Unless there is a funeral you will never know someone is truly dead or not.

Kaido not dying doesn't take away anything from Luffy's bullshit victory or whatever bullshit you are talking about this shitty arc.

Lmao

Luffy never killed anyone.
Indeed. He just knock Kaido out, it's the Lava that killed him.

Pell back at Alabasta survived a much bigger explosion than Pedro
Not the same narrative data. Pell coming back does not impact the story like the return of Kaido would.

Again, Oda is the king of fake deaths.
Not really. He also bring back people when it doesn't hurt the story. This would be the case in the case of One Piece (it would be useless too).

Sure

It's not about Luffy's victory, it's about the representation of Kaido's death.

Like another person just said:

They are dead, move on.

It kills his heroism. They even made a fucking grave for him. WTF? Shit makes nonsense.

Kaido being alive doesn't hurt history. No one who died if the person comes back alive will hurt the story. Shitty argument.

Kaido's death represents nothing if his legacy continues. So the key part is his legacy which was destroyed. Him dying or not makes no difference.

Nop. I think feel sad when he sacrifies himself. The moment is not magically gone, because Oda let him live.

In this case it would, simply because it would be redondant. On the contrary to other character, Kaido is an Antagonist, and one of the strongest at that. Repushing him after he was symbolically and physically destroyed would negate the purpose of the end of the manga and keep the danger alive for Wano. The relief of the Kozuki and momo would be instantly shattered.

Read the damn book.

Dude you are full of shit they made a funeral for him and next time he was with them like nothing happened.

No. You read the fucking book. Crocodile left Impel Down and he could just as well go back to Alabasta but he didn't. Luffy didn't had to kill him to keep Alabasta safe.

Yeah, because he came back.. duh

Crocodile left Impel Down and he could just as well go back to Alabasta but he didn't.
Crocodile went to Alabasta to know about Pluton and (it seems) for personal reasons other than just Pluton. Without Robin, there is absolutely no reason for him to try to take Albasta again. The country wasn't relieved because Crocodile was defeated, but because the rain came back and the conflict was stopped. Crocodile would not have any more power over the country. Kaido on the other hand is not ruling through cunning, he would still be a menace for the place.

He believed Pluton was there in the desert and wanted to explore all of it in his search
