General & Others Is anyone excited about One Piece currently?

Not even in the slightest

Egghead was probably the most pointless arc in existence- 2 years spent
Elbaf is already 2 years as well with wasting time with:
  • Elbaf children, as if we need more fucking hostages and fodder cluthering the series, God forbid he stops introducing fodder and focus on established characters
  • More fodder villains (Holy bums)
  • God valley taking up so much time and being worthless in the end, 0 plot 0 fights 3126564 panels of characters running around
  • Imu's ugly ass design and dumb worthless fight that will amount to nothing now

Well, I'm excited for One Piece, but probably for reasons other people wouldn't understand because we seem to be reading two entirely different stories.

If I'm right, the ending is going to piss you guys off, so you may as well stop reading right now.

Note: I'm gonna back off of this thread. I owe people an apology for calling them illiterate (even if it's true).

Do you get the feeling that this supposed climax where the FV makes his move is extremely underwhelming? Is there any hype left? I don't mean those content creators who are mostly paid off by Oda to act like the chapters are the best thing since slice bread. Like I couldnt care less about what happens anymore! I've become apathetic to it. Maybe it's because Loki is such an overpowered character oit of nowhere or that Luffy has turned into a messianic figure but this story isnt what it used to be.
stop reading literally no one here or oda would care.

Been going downhill since Deressrosa.

Slight uptick in some arcs, only to then go on a nosedive again.

Not Oda's fault though. It's shonen manga tradition to suck ass in the latter half and especially the final arc. We're here.

Up until Wano post-timeskip was boring because it always felt like the arcs have been unnecessarily long and dragged out despite them adding almost nothing to the overall story. It's like we had several prolonged Skypea type arcs (great arc) without the feeling of a greater threat or without facing real consequences.

Since Egghead we are really moving to endgame stuff. Great and connected background stories, void century teaser, more WG involvement and other factions are moving and leave an impact in the world outside of the Strawhats. Its feeling more dynamic without being predictable.

However, right now I don't feel any threat or hype regarding Imu, which does not make me really excited for the next chapter but its interesting enough to keep me going. It still lacks the sense of danger and proper character involvement from the Strawhats. Something like these is missing.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Oda is a diddyblud in Film Z Sanji.
