Theory The Ultimate Island: Dreamland

#1
Dreamland is the most appropriate name for this theory's subject. It is the country of the Ancient Kingdom, you should compare it to the country of Elbaf which is also called Warland.

Laugh Tale = A shifting Dream Island
Devil Fruits = Native fruits are Dream Fruits
All Blue = The surrounding sea is a Dream Sea
Will of D = Will of Dreamland
One Piece = Recreates Dreamland

It is important to note that Devil Fruits seem like magic, and most supernatural activity of the world comes from them. In "Dreamland", high concept science fiction collide with high fantasy.

It should also be noted that we have almost every island type imaginable already explored, including ancient islands, but a mythic dream island would be unheard of and be unparalleled compared to all the others.

Note: I've actually found something rather interesting related to Montblanc Norland.

In One Piece, Nakrowa (ナクロワ, Nakurowa), also known as the "Island of Dreams" (夢幻郷, Mugenkyō), is a legendary, potentially mythical location sought by the Saruyama Alliance. It is often referred to as a "dreamland" or, in Japanese, Maboroshi no Shima (幻の島), meaning "phantom island" or "illusory island".

@eamonpro @Rej any thoughts of your own here?

Personally, I thought this was a silly idea at first, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense to me.

The way I see it, something has to bridge the gap between science fiction and fantasy for the devil fruits to be constituted. I won't get into all the mechanics of the island because that will muddy the point of the thread, but there aren't many rational explanations for the devil fruits and this is one of them.

Otherwise, we are looking at the strict technology only viewpoint, which contests that something very close to a wish machine exists, and if we look at the strict magical only viewpoint, then the fruits naturally developed or exist because a magical entity also does. However, with this Dreamland concept, both ideas can be true as it does not have concrete rules that cement it as either/or.

the idea itself isn't too shabby. it could be the place where several dreams could be realized. I mean like from our strawhat peeps and such.

also I thought the stuff about people's dreams and wishes, what has also been mentioned by vegapunk in reference to devil fruits has to come back in some shape or form and it doesn't seem that Elbaf is doing that right now. so yeah seems Lough Tale could really be that place that centers around these themes.

At the heart of this theory is the idea that underneath this location there is a flow of energy coming out of the earth itself. That energy has been harnessed in the island and caused it to become radically altered. This alteration is what allowed the island to have a unique magnetic field and a shifting landscape along with magical properties.

It's comparable to the concept of Pyrobloin. Pyrobloin is a substance in the earth that was ejected from volcanoes naturally, and it caused Sea Clouds to exist. That fact brings to attention that the earth itself can provide supernatural qualities. If it can make a substance that changes the physics of clouds, then what if something similar changed the physics of an island?

This relates to esoterica about places on earth that can be called ley lines. In other words, this Dream Island was founded on a ley line, but what is a ley line exactly? A ley line is a straight alignment of various historic structures, prehistoric sites, and prominent landmarks. Originally proposed as a network of ancient trade routes, the concept has since evolved into a popular New Age belief that these lines channel mystical or "earth" energies.

This would be the Forbidden Sun element. These ley lines provide an energy that necessitates the Voice of All Things to harness it because the energy of the earth gave birth to All Things.

I also want to mention Luffy's dream. I think freedom is just a means to achieve his dream. His total freedom doctrine is about the Ultimate Adventure. A Dream Island might be the only place where he could find it. The Ultimate Adventure would require the Ultimate Party.
