Damn Loki is a lame ass god now. Rip the Woki train.
Tbh, the God lore with Loki isn't particularly interesting, it's all a little....contrived? The John Elbaf shit is particularly bad.

Loki has some other stuff going for him to make him entertaining, but Oda probably has to give us something new for his character, otherwise I think he'll fall a bit short of Rocks and Harald writing wise.

Like Davy Jones or the 4 Gods in Skypiea , an offhand mention from early pre TS doesn't make a concept feel connected to the world, especially when it's introduced in a more casual manner.
Idk Elbaf's War God was referenced the very arc where the readers were introduced to giants. Davy Jones is much contrived as he was clearly supposed to be a joke character pre-ts looking at Oda drawing of him in a SBS

Fair enough, I just find it pretty hard to care when we know nothing about him or how he relates to the story.

Like.... he rivaled Nika, which is okay but...:
I don't really know who Nika even is(?)
Was it a friendly rivalry, which is why Elbaf worships Nika?
How does Elbaf generally view him? Presumably, Harald would had a grandparent or something who knew him(or maybe he is Lokis ancestor? I don't remember), and strongly dislikes John Elbaf, but we get nothing.

When we get the dots connected together, I think some of this stuff will work a bit better, but as long as all we have is vague references to 4 Gods, it's kind of snooze worthy.

I feel John Elbaf is more ancient than the void century , Jarul talks of him as a figure from the distant past.... Something that doesn't really make sense if he had parent of a grandparent that lived during his time....
I'm a little confused on why Jarul and the older giants in general don't seem to know much about the Void century either though? Or I guess, they could and it just hasn't really come up? Jarul at least should have a grandparent from that time?

Is it just because Giants are sort of implied to be doing their own thing, generally seperate from humans?

The whole God concept in one piece seem oda has critical view on gods and religion. Skypedia has angel girl say it is not time to pray.

Like luffy has critical on elbaf God to giants at little garden, if gold tell you die, will you do it.

I know oda has reference to heaven. He seem non religous guy.

On volume 1, he did have alien face as photo. So ofa mind think aliens are mistaken gods.

Wrong, because in Skypia, in a moment when everyone prayed, Skypia was saved, and Luffy, as God's messenger, saved this island.
Also "fish" that Oda draw resemble evangelist symbol. Oda is more likely saying that the world is ruled by an Evil Devil, who pretends to be a God. This is basically what the Bible is saying. This is not Kubo's Bleach, where God and his dream of giving everyone eternal life actually became evil. So you can say that Luffy accomplishes the real God's (of One Piece) will in the manga. This is why he always comes to the place at a crucial moment.
