We finally have release date for the Wit remake. It will stream exclusively on Netflix starting February 2027. Season 1 will consist of 7 episode which will cover the first 50 chapters of the Manga (Mihawk intro). It’s 300 minutes long in totality, so I’d assume ~40 minutes per episode. Roughly 7 chapters will be adapted per episode. All 7 episode will drop at once.

Assuming this pace for the rest of the series it would take 23 more season to Imu’s arrival and a total of 168 episodes (more like 336 considering each episode is 40 minutes) until it adapts chapter 1200.

If an episode was the same lenght as your average anime episode that'd mean between 3 to 4 chapters per episode on average, which is fast but not crazily.
Will give it try, I'm curious to see One Piece with a non-tortoise pacing. Although later arcs need this remake more than old ones
30 pages chapters back then. Not currently 10-15 ones

Emunopla, citing unknown sources, says they only plan to do up to Skypiea. Massive fumble if true

If true,I guess the point is to get new fans who are intimidated by the main anime lenght into One Piece and then hoping they're hooked enough to continue.
But Skypiea would be such a weird arc to quit, as much as I like it, it is a pretty controversial arc. If they never planned to cover the entire manga, Marineford/timeskip is a great stopping point.

Yeah if it was merely to invest fans in the series, you either stop after Alabasta or go to the timeskip.

very odd decision
