Back pre-ts people thought differently, but like any old chracters people waiting "named attacks" he been so dehyped im nto sure anymore
Like before i would paid money he gonna move last against FV out of all characters before luffy.

But now? Eh, with how oda writing even roger i dont think he is doing anything really relevant tbh. Like yeah it might be a big "feat" in the context of that chapter but its gonna be nothing noteworthy EoS i think

What do people really even want from him is my question

He has limited resources and if he becomes an early ally for Luffy then he just solves every single problem he has (If he's as strong as some people think he is)

There's also the issue of limited information. The Strawhats are put in certain scenarios where it makes sense for them to find out about certain things (especially with Robin in the crew) but the revs really... aren't

This idea seems to get more cap the more we read, especially now how oda setting up Labo out of all people to even steal that little thunder he has as the revo main focus guy. So what people expect from him currently? I guess big haki punch before jobbing to imus not final form or something along the lines?

That would be about power level, as for importance, you kinda localized it yourself that he is also kinda joke in that department, he was told by Nico Robin that ancient weapons confirmed exist (this means he is literally less knowledgeable than crocodile), he has no idea about imu, they didnt even have the THEORY that there was a leader that was directing the gorosei. He is confused about what going on with kuma, he was doubting Sabo because the fucking newspaper told some BS as if he were a rookie


So characterwise he is, like world strongest painter, i would argue already giga ass whih is quite impressive given he has not even a spotlight yet. The one thing you can say for akainu he has a strong, consistent characterization, actually, even during his desk days, and dragon has not even that.

Like you cant look me in the eye that oda gives a fuck about dragon like he gives a fuck about some other characters or kishimoto about minato and so on

Why would he involve himself in things that have nothing to do with his greater ambition?

There's little to no information on his existence and unless you've been told by someone that has met him before you won't have the slightest clue. That includes the Gorosei potentially having a leader. Information on the Ancient Weapons is incredibly scarce as well

Kuma made a deal with Vegapunk personally, Dragon isn't a psychic how would he know about that? As for the Sabo thing he was just being careful, we've seen traitors in One Piece before and I'm sure Dragon is aware that anyone could flip at any moment (see: Kanjuro betraying the Scabbards despite knowing them his entire life lol)

You just now listing why this happened and why thats plausible, which i didnt even bring up that anything like "it cant make sense". The talking point was not "there is no reasonable explanation why this can be the case."

Bottom line, dragon was expected to be HIM, not just another guy that doesn't know what going on or getting run off by BBP and CP0 as a footnote in the story to hype those 2 more

True expectations don't translate to popularity, i brought that up because what we seen so just doesn't move people. So i doubt when he gets the "spotlight" (mind you, in god valley dragon had way more prominent role + lines than Blackbeard, and an exploration of his relationship with garp, which is funny given the context of xebec and GV himself for BB) this will not change imo. How oda is handling him so far doesnt signal to me he is cooking something special for him that will blow our socks off. Screams "average" to me.
Glad to be proven wrong tho, i like reading more good characters and great moments
