Questions & Mysteries Has any author glazed a character to the detriment of the story more than Oda has with Shanks

The entire main message of chapter 1 of the entire series is that you don’t have to start a fight over trifling insult. Oda then does a rtrdd spin off with Luffy of Shanks message in Jaya. Despite Bellamy physically attacking both Luffy and Zoro. But now as we get to Elbaf, Luffy uses a full powered Gear 4 attack on an immobile and restrained opponent in response to a single verbal comment. Is there no limit to the glaze? When will Oda realize that glazing Shanks like this actively harming the story?

Oden was glazed far more by Oda than Shanks

setting aside the fact that jumbo is a useless character and should be killed off

You are making up imaginary scenarios of shank being wildly out of character just so you can be mad at him lmao

Shank is the one who freed jumbo's boss Fisher
That’s because Oda retconned Fisher Tigers backstory to glaze Shanks. That shit ain’t canon, Shanks is a fan fiction character.

no he didnt lol

fisher was literally revealed to be a CD slave at the end of his flashback. it was obvious he didn't just go to marie joa and fuck shit up. That made no sense
No you literally can not read. Fisher Tiger came back to Fishman Island 16 years ago after a great expedition where he became a slave for multiple years in Marijoa. He then told Otohime and Neptune about his plan and went on a second expedition to the Holy Land where he scaled the Red Line and freed the slaves.

Tiger even has a flashback on his death bed which confirms that this conversation with Otohime and return to FMI was after escaping slavery.

The timeline goes
1. 16 years ago, FT escapes Marijoa and returns to FMI
2. He tells Neptune and Otohime of his plan to free the slaves
3. 15 years ago he climbs the redline and frees the slaves

However, no plot hole or continuity error can ever stop Oda from glazing Shanks
