Questions & Mysteries Has any author glazed a character to the detriment of the story more than Oda has with Shanks

#21
Why would it be a detriment? He is the rolemodel of the main character, a benchmark of where he wants to be before achieving his goals. We don’t really know all that much about his path to the top, just bits and pieces, but we will probably see that it wasn’t an easy road and that his strength is genuinely earned and he had to learn hard lessons first hand, this is why he can move around the way he does today. Unlike Blackbeard he does things the right way.

Because he’s glazed in a way which is actively detrimental, and sometimes borders on character assassination, to other character like I explained.
