Yes the hype has never been so strong, but it will get even bigger (unless the hatred you see here spreads too far). Just like we knew it would get bigger 10 years ago, One Piece will be a world wide phenomena by the end and people will try to catch up and probably live the experience with other people.

This will be kind of a historical moment for the manga, comic and literary industry. I don't think people realize. It would be waste to miss that.
So you think Elbaf is the best arc in the story, with Wano and Egghead as runner ups? Be real

You can't justify a manga having a golden age based on slop like the fan letter, OPLA and Film red lmfao.

The Golden age is obviously from the W7 saga to MF, so 2006-2010 or so

The golden age in term of quality is subjective. People like different things - even if the quality is objectively amazing. If you asked me, I would say that there have been multiple golden ages and we are in one.

As for the golden age of One Piece as a series, I would say that the real golden age should arrive in two or three years. We have been in a constant golden age for a decade now, but it's getting stronger and stronger and will reach highs people can't even imagine yet.

Also, please, take the word "slop" out of Fan letter and the OPLA

No it was bigger by the early 2010s than anything other than Naruto and DB in America and if count anywhere but the US (Middle East, Europe, South East Asia OP lapped Naruto for its entire run).
Europe is filler. America is the culture setter of the west.

Oda was crying in interviews over Naruto's worldwide popularity. Kishi had the west in a chokehold.

Lmao, this is an actual cop out, Golden age means when the series is at it's best. The title of the thread is literally
"The" golden age. So do you seriously believe that Elbaf Egghead and Wano are better than Sabody, Impel down, MF? What about Alabasta, Skypia and W7?
If you don't respond to that with an actual answer, idrc about continuing the convo

Tbh, you could probably say OP is better rn than 5 or 10 years ago , but 15 or 20 years ago? No way

Yeah but if the manga isn't up to par, saying it's the golden age is ridiculous. The rest is additional shit, and tbh, all the OP shit everywhere feels forced anyway. A live action adaption of One Piece isn't what the world needed anyway

Not in term of manga and anime. France was. (and trust me, I don't like to brag about this country)

:ohreally:
Nope. Once One Piece became big in America that's when it "made it." And that was very recently, thanks to marketing and Netflix.

North Americans for the most part don't give a rat's ass about what goes on in Europe that's the unfortunate truth. Meanwhile America is the barometer.

Tbh if the anime remake is good then I’d actually consider it a golden age. Most fans of Animanga are anime only, hence why OP gets such a bad rep on things like fights when objectively in the manga all the big 3 are on the same tier choreography wise. The other series just had the benefit of being elevated by their anime. Kakashi vs Obito was 4 pages in the manga for instances.

Subjective I guess, I already watched the pre TS anime and it was alright, I'm not super into remakes in general unless you have an actual FMA situation.

I don't think re adapting material that's been out for decades really justify a "golden age". Not to say that they should start from the Timeskip, but I'm not particularly interested until that point.

At most, you could say it's like a "silver age", there's no way you can seriously argue that things are better rn than mid to late 2000s OP though

I remember behind there mate. I lived that period, I watched Ace dies and Robin live. And yes, it was amazing. But the intensity that I feel now is on a completely different level.

You could say that it is based on the addition of time and emotional bagage. Yes, but this is part of the experience of the story for us.

For me it's not about comparisons, I love whole cake for different reasons that I love Water Seven, and I love Marineford for different reasons that I loved Wano and Egghead. In term of pure storytelling, whole cake and the saga of water seven are close of course for me because I'm emotionnaly tied to them, but the storytelling is just one aspect of a story. In term of experience, it's a big hill that started in Zou (for me).

You guyz have been brainwashed into thinking that you needed to create a competition of your love for the arcs of the story, never wondering that you could also just simply love differently.

It's not a One Piece thing or an america thing. It's an internet things. What started the current golden age of manga is youtube, it became worldwide through there. Netflix, streaming services and cie THEN took the train.

Lmao, this is why being a glazer and obsessive hater are the two sides of the same coin, it's all emotional.

You're basically doing 1984 style doublespeak to redifine Golden age as a "good time". It's literally inherently about putting other arcs and times down, as a time that wasn't "The Golden Age"

If it's not about comparisons, then there's nothing solidifying this as the golden age....

Fan letter isn't slop by any stretch of the imagination

My nephews they don't talk about op and they don't watch it :Woro :PepeChad: even they don't know the character names except guffy or zolo .
Only interested in new short anime such as jjk etc

...
When I was around their age OP was everything to me lol
:HappyClown:
.....

So yeah op isn't in it's golden age

It just live on its legends

Without the old fans , the new gen are not interested in this shit 😒
Especially since anime looks shit compared to others
And who gonna start 1k episodes
:PepeThink:

in the generation who watch summary of films and anime in tiktok or YT
:rolaugh:
....
And live action is made for social media users who are lunatics
:sanjimeh:

The goal of the new anime is to bring in new younger fans. Because you're correct, none of my little cousins watch One Piss. They all watch stuff like JJK and Mid slayer.
