The goal of the new anime is to bring in new younger fans. Because you're correct, none of my little cousins watch One Piss. They all watch stuff like JJK and Mid slayer.
It's seems so , it's 7 episodes that cover 50 chapters.

If they are smart they should attract what the young like more current anime.

Didn't manga sales peak around Marineford anyways? I wouldn't consider this era of One Piece to be at its best either in terms of writing quality, either.
I guess if the metric is side content/popularity in the west, sure.
Manga was Peaking and The Anime was Decent Back Then, but right now the Anime is Peaking while the Manga is in a Good place. Arguably Great Place tbh. One Piece Manga has Been FIRE the last 2 to 3 years. You can’t deny that.

One Piece is probably the 3rd most popular anime.

There's pokemon in 2nd place and Naruto is in 1st.

There's statistics on Facebook, but I didn't search for every anime.

The convos about Naruto on here can't be avoided, it's just that popular.

The stats for Op aren't going down the series is probably in a stable position, but it would have to surpass Pokemon before Naruto.

Europe is filler. America is the culture setter of the west.

Oda was crying in interviews over Naruto's worldwide popularity. Kishi had the west in a chokehold.
I am genuinely struggling to think of anything culturally relevant in terms of original film/tv entertainment to come out of Europe within the last 15 years.

If I extend it all the way back to 2000 then the BBC was king in setting the bar for nature documentaries. That's kinda it. Oh and ITV's Primeval had a main monster in the Future Predator that I'm personally convinced influenced the design of a few Hollywood movie monsters, especially for A Quiet Place.

Pokémon is far bigger than Naruto, Op, and even Dragon Ball

In Quality and Popularity, i'd say both yes and no.

This One Piece shit PEAKED during Marineford Saga. Best arcs in a row and peak sales. This is undeniable.

One Piece nowdays just became more mainstream, mostly because of Netflix. Also, Toei opted for a more stylized animation style due to current anime trends.

If I recall correctly, it only got popular towards the end of its run after Yank company Netflix got the distribution rights. So once the Yanks liked it, then it became popular. I never heard of it within the UK or Ireland before that Netflix deal. Lol.

Though it is a purely original British production, so it probably should still count even if the Americans are the ones who actually made it popular.

Nah you're right then, only Americans liking it mattered.
