The Holy Knights sole reason for existing is to job, so that Oda doesn't have to give characters with actual value, that role.
It's just hard to take them seriously no matter how much microanalyzing you do, the author only created them because he's too much of a pussy to hand established characters Ls. Holy Jobbers for a reason.
We can say Warlords are stronger or weaker, the difference is Warlords are actual characters. Oda gets cold feet when it's time for characters to legitimately lose to underlings.

If sanji doesnt get bailed out he would either commit literal seppuku or if he was prevented from it he would let a friend kill him
Thats the ultimate answer so no matter how much melodrama you would produce at the end he would get bailed out or he would kill himself, which will not happen
Oda clearly thinks thats the morally superior choice and even in universe the characters think so. Again this is not saying you need to like this but more its redundant to ask for this to ever happen, its a closed topic for oda, atleast if you ask me and i laid it out why i think that.
The only character that mocked sanji for this ended up like this btw:

Zoro even said to Sanji to "not mess up" before leaving him to deal with a goddess.
At some point he has to decide whether his code is more important than the crew/things he's trying to protect.
Like, I would say it's impossible for Oda to portray Sanji's chivalry as a positive thing by the end of this arc if it causes Zaza to take the kids and someone else has to save them.

Yea I know but she obviously ended up weaker than him. It's basically Ulquiorra all over again, Oda wanted to make the lowest commander hella strong for shock value, to say this is only the baseline, but he overtuned it and then we realize that guy was actually stronger than those supposedly ranked above him. (But in this case Smoothie isn't even ranked above him, only Katakuri was ever called the strongest, they all share the same rank).
