Jew D. Boy

Idk I’m not married

@Jew D. Boy would you know? Is it just something we adopted from Americans/europeans?

I think wedding rings are a western thing? Not sure
I really don’t know for sure since this is the first time I’m hearing of it…all I know is that I wear one and don’t think twice about it, but that could still mean it’s a cultural thing rather than religious :luuh:

Yeah it was much better before when people were sacrificing 12 year old virgins to pagan Gods.
I’ll admit that I’m stoned right now, but I do not understand what part of my post elicited that response…I was just asking why someone would convert and you’re coming at me with virgin sacrifices :kaidowhat:

@Monkey D Theories I have a question for you - what made you wanna convert to Judaism? Having been born and raised in it, I’m always curious as to what inspires someone to join such a maligned and misaligned religion/culture…
At first it was something really dumb. Some of my best friends since high school are Jewish. One in particular was this woman who at the time I was deeply infatuated with. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get into the religion to grow closer to her.

But that was like 3 years ago. Ultimately I realized that the fixation I had on that woman was quite superficial and that I only cared so much about her because I was trying to find some way to give my life meaning. And that the meaning I get from my relationship to God is actually far greater than anything I gain or could gain from any one person.

Which is why nowadays I think I’m probably much more religious than the Jews I grew up with. I think the aspect of subjecting yourself to rules and a common identity with other people is deeply beneficial. Kashrut helps you be mindful of what you eat, Shabbat helps you be mindful of how you spend your time. Together this and the other mitzvah help forge a common identity that connects you with others in your community and perhaps even to God(however you define that).

I remember the first time I spent a night in an eruv and walked to Shul in the morning. Never in my life have I experienced that level of community before. it’s awesome to be able to walk down a street and say good shabbos to a bunch of different people doing the same thing as you. People nowadays just aren’t as connected. Same with kashrut, it forces Jews to all buy from the same places.

antisemitism is a thing that does scare me though. I’m kind of a paranoid person, so I don’t really like wearing a kippah in public if I’m not doing anything Jewish. But I do like wearing it at home. It helps you know “this is who I choose to be”, and I find that important.

Ahh, I should have known a woman was involved…but if it led you to this major revelation, fixating on her worked out for you! I have definitely noticed that converts are often much more zealous and dedicated to their adopted beliefs than those of us who have been Jewish our entire lives; I’m guessing that’s because y’all study it from the outside and are actively choosing to be part of it, whereas I’ve had it for my entire time on this planet so I feel it’s less pertinent for me to keep observing. Another thing I’ve seen a bunch is Jews (and Catholics who are spiritually similar) losing the faith after a while, probably related to the perceived fatigue I just mentioned…there’s absolutely merit in adhering to the laws and tenets of Kashrut/Shabbat/High Holidays etc. but a lot of people chafe under religious obligations and would rather give them up entirely. Still, like you said, the community really does support and protect their own (almost to a fault or their own detriment), so I’m glad you found your (my) people and are feeling more enlightened than before :BigW:

I think with Judaism in particular, it is kinda selective in that you can’t convert flippantly, you can really only do it if you are dedicated. But I do think the convert zealotry is an observed phenomenon in all religions.

I think black and white thinking can be quite toxic and probably leads to a lot of folks losing faith. Observing the mitzvah shouldn’t be all or nothing. I think treating it like that will just lead to you resenting it.

I think it’s good to make an effort. Yeah sure I’m probably not going to be as frum as some haredi from Kiryas Joel, but I appreciate what I do. Especially given how most Jews aren’t even that observant.

If demons are real, they're going to have to do some really fucked up shit, to be ethically worse than religious extremists at this point.

Like, I believe in Demons/Spirits/Jinn, due to accounts from reliable individuals and groups.

And the difference between them and religious extremists from what i've seen, is that the spirits are generally a real mixed bag, while the religious extremists are almost always assholes.

So. As always the problem was never race. The problem was always ideology.

My dad believes in demons to a certain extent. He believes that when we get really angry or we're acting up is because we're being influenced by demons from hell.

I love my dad. But I'm having to come to grips with the fact that he might be a little cuckoo. He might not be like a Trump guy, but he can be a greedy businessman who is willing to ignore all the humanitarian side of his faith just o embrace the more supernatural side of things.

Idk why im going on this tangent. But I guess is good to put it into writing, even if it hurts my feelings.

I believe in negative spiritual entities. But I think it's really weak for most people to use that excuse. The amount of people that are dealing with possession they have absolutely no control over is very small.

If you're getting possessed, 99% of the time it's because of your own horrible choices, making you an easy target.

These people use demons as an excuse for their own shitty behavior. When they're doing bad things that satan and the demons. That's not the real them. What a bunch of bullshit.

It's just a scapegoat for their own bullshit. So while I do believe in possession, it's pathetic to blame other entities for your own shit. The reason these people are easy to possess is because they lack personal accountability and honesty in the first place. They're selling themselves down the river.

I'll give your dad credit for being a religious person that actually believes in demons though. The religious people that don't believe in demons piss me off so much. How in the fuck are you trying to sell people your goddamn cult, if you don't even believe in it yourself?

Sorry you're going through that. I hope he changes his ways and embraces the good in the world. Money needs to get the heck out of religion and politics.

My dad's pretty nuts. Still on the Trump train.

I'll be very honest too, I've had experiences with what people would call demons.

Physical contact. Audio. Hearing her speak was wild. You know audio compression? How if you compress audio, you just get like a high pitched, metallic shriek?

That is how I would describe what I heard. It was a language being spoken so fast that my brain could not compute it, and hearing it felt like there were nails in my ears. I could tell her mouth was right near my ear.

This is why I only have respect for people that take the occult seriously and are honest about it. Shit is real and wild.

As much as I fucking despise religion, one thing most of them are correct about is you really should not play around with this kind of stuff.

A lot of these entities aren't evil. They're incredibly hurt and broken.

That was more or less the first thought I had when I actually saw a Demon. "Holy shit, you need freaking help."

There wasn't a visible nose or eyes, just darkness on the top of her face, and sharp shark teeth for a mouth. Pale and... hollow.

The worst of these entities are evil. But a lot of them aren't. A lot of them have their soul stolen from them, by other entities, or were created without a direct soul so they could be controlled easily. Homunculi.

I don't have any hatred for the ones that are going through it. A lot of what we call demons are victims that had their energy or soul stolen.

However, one of the most common tricks these entities will use is pretending to be a victim. Which makes things a giant pain in the ass.

Fun fact, one of the only things I actually respect about the catholic church is they have really good exorcists. Even the muslims call em up once in a while.

I'm gonna stop writing before I start talking about the time David Bowie hired a white witch to exorcise his apartment. Dude was on a diet of only white food. Milk salt and cocaine.

Yikes.

Feel free to not believe any of this.

To really know this shit, i feel like you have to experience it or know someone you have a lot of respect for that's experienced it.

Once I had these experiences, it really made me start to listen to native american folklore and the folklore of other native and indigenous peoples. In a lot of cases, they don't fully know what they're describing, but they are just so much more honest and real when it comes to actually analyzing the occult.

Based on what i'm hearing, we should get some pretty legitimate disclosure about non-human life, history, ufos, etc in the next decade. But white hats have been trying to push for that disclosure for a long time, so i'm not gonna hold my breath until I see it.

I probably should tell the story about how I accidentally summoned a succubus.

Yo, i'm just going to leave a warning here for people: you do not need to do any kind of ritual. If you're horny enough and wanna Succubus to show up, they will.

You do not need some ritual. You just need to be a desperate horny, freak. I thought you at least needed some candles or some shit. Nope.

Be advised. Most Succubi are heavily abused creatures that in most cases are sex slaves to higher ranking entities. They should not be objectified. They need serious help.

The epstein shit, is happening on the other side too.

Really glad I met her, but I was just a walking piece of garbage when I did. She made me realize how toxic and disgusting I was towards women, and what the end result of it actually was. What it looked like when someone became a sex slave to such an extent, they no longer controlled their own soul. Just true misery. Hunger without the idea of even being full. Just hunger. Just hunger and fear.

Demons are real and should be treated with concern, caution and respect.

They're just life forms we don't understand well, that are much less solid than we are.

The universe is 99% plasma. It's hilarious that we think that solid matter is the pinnacle of existence.

The Angels and Demons described in religious texts are advanced beings made out of plasma. Most of them.

Some of the descriptions of demons are just cryptids and other stuff like that.

You look at hairless bears, and you really understand where some demon sightings came from

Fuuuuuck

See, those faces. That's why I tend to not bring this stuff up.

Unless you're like me and ready to be laughed at, if you bring this stuff up, no one's going to take you seriously.

Which really says a lot about how much people actually believe in the religions they use to grift

They don't even believe that shit, they just hate gay people
