Alright then.

Superman "created" the superhero genre, so there's no doubt that he's one of the most iconic ficcional characters of all time.

The issue here is, during these 90+ years of history, Superman suffered a very lot of downfalls in popularity, not only today, but even since always lol. During the 40s ~ 50s, Shazam outsaled Superman. Even during the 90s teenagers were more interested on Spawn than Superman, during a time, Superman was considered a old people comics.

What i mean is, we are talking about a generational trait, and what the new gen is interested. We could even argue Black Panther or Deadpool are more popular than Superman today.

Also, the lack of product is a massive factor too.
Before James Gunn Superman, it's been 12 years with no Superman solo movie.

So yeah, even being the greatest superhero of all time, his popularity decreased, mainly by DC comics fault who constantly glazes Batman
So we're on the same page then, yeah

I feel kinda bad cause Superman is the poster boy hero but he just doesn't get a lot to work with + his powers and stories are relatively uninteresting when compared to some of his fellow heroes

Are you a fan?

Fan of what Superman era exactly?

If you'rw talking Pre-Crisis era, yes. If you're talking about New 52 and Rebirth, absolutely not.

Firstly, retcons. This is not exclusive of him, Wolverine also suffered several retcons, but Spider-man's Clone Saga is among top 10 worst things ever happened in superhero comics.

Secondly, his couples are extremely forced and you can clearly see some of writers's fetishism

Thirdly, the art style is horrible. I don't know why the hell the artists draw Peter Parker so ugly lmao.

And to end, they don't give a fucking rest for him lmao, almost everyone he liked died at some point of canon

Ben Reilly was the one good thing that came out of it but they never use him right. He could have been an alt-Spidey who works more with SHIELD, Avengers etc but they keep turning him into a mediocre villain.

Damn, it's as if you don't like seeing the main protag turned into a cuck or something.

You mean John Romita Jr or is it anyone else? I always liked Bagley and Ramos tbh.

I've always hated that so much, it's like so many writers and fans need the guy to constantly take Ls and look bad.

It's one thing for him to be relatable but for him to be as talented and strong as he is only to get 24/7 reset to being broke and unlucky is so dumb.

I unironically liked the Ultimate Spider Man cartoon that people hated simply because Peter actually wasn't unlucky 24/7, had Ws against his whole team and actually had a happy ending.
