Yea but atleast he actual punches above his weight class showing spurts of elite potential. He had a domain which 99% of characters don't, characters far stronger than him.

Toshiro never showed that, he's just recognized as the youngest to reach Captain status. He has a bankai but so does everyone and their mothers, except his wasn't even complete.

He's def a prodigy, but in the current timeline he was bottom of the barrel among captains.

And to answer your question, neither Loki nor Luffy should be able to beat Imu, who will either get too sick and leave or someone disrupts the Abyss.

Possibly Zoro and Sanji not doing the same with Omen Sommers and Killingham, as well.

So, it comes down to being only able to fend them off then true victory.
