General & Others marcus mars is responsible for what happened in esperia

Itsumade appear in the night sky during times of trouble—such as plagues and disasters, or flying over battlegrounds where many have died. In particular, they fly over places where there is suffering or death, yet little has been done to alleviate the pain of the living or pacify the spirits of the dead. The strange birds fly about in circles all night long, crying out in a terrible voice.
Origin: Itsumade make their first recorded appearance in the Taiheiki, a fictional history of Japan written in the 14th century. According to the Taiheiki, a terrible plague spread during the fall of 1334. The suffering of the plague victims is what summoned the itsumade.
Legends: One night during the fall of 1334, the itsumade suddenly appeared above the hall for state ceremonies, crying out, “Itsumademo? Itsumademo?” Panic erupted amongst the people of the capital. The same creature came back the next night, and every night thereafter. Finally, the imperial court decided that something had to be done. They recalled Minamoto no Yorimasa’s triumph against the nue many years earlier, and decided to summon the warrior Oki no Jirouzaemon Hiroari. Hiroari was an expert archer. He used a signal arrow that let off a loud whistle as it flew, and shot the monster out of the sky. Afterwards, Hiroari was given the name Mayumi, meaning true bow.
what if marcus mars is the one responsible for esperia's fog ( either that or the previous user of smokers df)

from what I hear in In the video game Nioh 2, the Itsumade is a formidable Yokai enemy deeply tied to environmental corruption. [1]
  • The Yokai Realm Mist: The Itsumade automatically generates Yokai Realm pools, which manifest as a thick, purple-black corruptive fog on the ground. It utilizes this fog to buff its own attacks, detonate explosions, and pressure the player.
Plus mars is thr god warrior of thr environment and it feels they all have ironies relating to their titles

Thats what I believe as well as someone also opened my eyes to the mythology, Theres a reason why Mars appeared in his beast form rather than as a human. I’d like to think the HK in the throne room was there to provide an abyss mark there for Mars to come in discretely and I also wonder if he adopts Gunko into the Manmeyers.

Maybe or maybe not. This could be a "Absol" like situation from Pokemon, with Mars responding to natural disasters to help, but ending up getting blamed for them.

Because I think we already heard what might have caused the fog in this latest chapter.

In Chapter 1185, we hear about another island that suddenly went missing after they didn't pay the Heavenly Tribute. Right before Brook starts playing his song to help cheer him up.

Well, that MIGHT be more literal than we might think. Because we did JUST see how God Valley fell into the sea, creating another of those holes in the ocean. And right afterward, Oda mentioned that the whole area was covered...in mist.

(Chapter 1166)

So, my current theory is that another island was probably destroyed recently, which released mist from underground. And that mist drifted over the ocean to Esperia and made them all sick.

Maybe that island was destroyed by the World Government with Uranos? But, this was WAY before Vegapunk recreated the Mother Flame for them, so I'm not sure how they'd be powering it. But, like with God Valley, some natural disaster like a earthquake or a battle could have gotten out of hand and the entire island could have been destabilized and just fell into the ocean naturally. Creating another of those holes in the ocean.

As for WHY mist coming from underground is causing people to get sick? Well, that's because this Hollow Earth may just be a giant mass grave. They basically keep cracking open a ancient tomb and releasing old diseases back into the world. With dead and/or frozen dragon's bodies being the source of these diseases, ultimately. But you can read more about all that here:

So, while Marcus Mars's Itsumade form being here is probably a reference to the original Yokai myth, I'm not so certain he's the one who's actually responsible for the fog. Maybe indirectly? As fallout for something he did on the other island that got wiped out? But, this could all just be caused by this "Incomplete World" being HIGHLY unstable, in a number of ways.
