Is there any explanation why Sukuna and Gojo postponed their fight once Gojo got free?

I'm thinking the only sense would be that Sukuna knew Gojo was stronger and would defeat him so he would needed the rest of his fingers to have a chance. But Gojo knew he wouldn't be able to save Megumi in the process. I think that's the only explanation it would make sense for them to not fight right there because if Sukuna knew he would win he should have fought right there.

Sukuna was weaker at the time Gojo got released. Gojo wasn't gonna fight Sukuna with Kenjaku backing him up either (both have open barrier domains). It was mutual agreement. They also had their pride on the line was Kashimo already emphasized, it's a strongest thing

Tf you mean pride bs doesn't fit? Gojo told Sukuna that HE was the challenger not the other way around from the very start. Gojo had an ego to fill too

Tell me how a proud man consideres his own lost in a fight? Gojo did that, Sukuna never considered he could lose. Gojo saw Sukuna as a real threat. Sukuna literally said Gojo was just a fish/prey, bigger than others but still a prey.

Thats why he didn't use Shrine but ten shadows

Gojo is clearly superior to beat him he used his brain he knew he couldn't fight Gojo head on so resulted in a tank and adapt tactic which is pretty boring but otherwise Gojos CT would pulverize him

What is Shrine again? His domain expansion? Because if it is they both used it very early on. And repeatedly. I remember people saying that Sukuna could end Gojo whenever he wanted to but wanted to use Mahoraha to figure it out how to by pass infinity just because of the love of game. Author never let that explicity.
