People say that Luffy has good battle iq but he really doesn’t because the strategic thing to do is wear your opponent down while tanking their moves in base and finish them off with Gear 5 at the end but going all out from the beginning is massively dumb

He’s also dumb for not developing mini Gear 4 earlier or maybe Oda is the stupid one with limited imagination

It should be well established now that Luffy is not clever in battle, he's lucky. This has been a fact since Loguetown. Gear 5 feeds into this by allowing him to do the most retarded shit and still having it work.

It's one of the biggest reasons no one cares about powerscaling Luffy, his power is literally plot armour. This isn't a theory, it's something Oda has outright stated many times.
