It makes sense with Imu. But you are right it's crazy for a yonko to be pulling out awakening to deal with a YC type characters like Lucci. I would say even admirals. Especially at the beginning.

This is the equivalent of Doffy using awakening to deal with Cavendish or Law or Sanji in Dressrosa.

Rooftop Luffy was badass as fuck in base form. Espwxia when paired with Haki. Plus it seemed like he was effortlessly using gear 3 moves while in base . This should be his new standard imo. with Gear 4th and coming out later when needed

I just can’t understand the reasoning behind it and why Oda chooses to draw Luffy in G5 at every chance he gets.

It makes Luffy look weak, the fact that he needed G5 to fight against Lucci and Kizaru and the giant animals makes it look like he’s YC level without it.

So why does Oda the fucker insists on doing this and shitting on his own MC?

Goku wasn’t spamming Super Saiyan, Naruto wasn’t spamming Bijuu Mode and Ichigo wasn’t spamming Bankai

You first fight with your base mode, wear your opponent down and only use your transformation at the end, this is strategy.

Because it makes Luffy look weak. Making Luffy weaker and weaker is Oda's routine. That's the point. Quantity over quality. Luffy appears everywhere, but each of his achievement every arc always get weaker and obsolete at the very next arc, he get nothing done lol

G4 was great against Dofla. Vs Cracker and Kata? Obsolete. Vs Kaidou? Utterly useless. G5 was great against Kaidou. Vs Kizaru? Obsolete. Always like that.

But the G5 is true, its mostly 5-10 minutes.
And Manga fight in general, 5 minutes still long af, just like how Goku and Frieza went lol
Thats why I'm laughing so much when pepople say that Lucci and Zoro fight is long af, while in reality it might be 5 minutes to 10 minutes in general.
Its just many things happening and need to be shown.

Will he use conqueror’s haki like Gaban advised or will he fool around like egghead and not use haki at all? Because I hope you know that serious Luffy (the one that fought Kaido) solos all the Gorosei AND Kizaru at once
