Brief Spoilers for Chapter 1188: The Soaring King
Cover page:- Roger Pirates on a typical day aboard the Oro Jackson, with Gaban and Rayleigh arguing. Roger, Buggy and Shanks fishing.
- Luffy vs Imu continues, Imu declares that Joyboy broke a pact between them. A massive clash of haki resonates throughout Elbaph.
- Luffy reiterates that he is not Joyboy, but Imu says that Joyboy promised him he would come back. Imu has killed all the users of the fruit since then but none had awakened the power.
- Scene shifts to Zoro and Sommers. Zoro uses King of hell on Sommers who has covered himself in haki-coated thorns, using a move called Thorny Devil.
- The attack barely breaks through the barrier, but isnt enough to deal damage to Sommers' real body with Sommers using his Kanabo to bludgeon Zoro.
- Sommers says that Zoro's CoC is quite something, but notes he doesnt have enough weight behind it.
- Zoro puts on his banana and grins as his sword pulsates with Conqueror's haki.
- The final part of the chapter, has Sanji and Killingham face off. Sanji uses ifrit jambe but does not activate his germa modifications and so Sanji's legs starts to burn.
- Killingham says that the last time he used a similar attack he had no issue, but notes that at that time his eyebrows reversed.
- Sanji thinks to himself that Gaban's words may mean that he needs to let go of the tether of Germa and fully embrace his modifications. Terrified at the idea, Sanji refuses to activate them.
- Sanji begins faltering and Killingham begins winning.
- Sanji sees Zaza who is brandishing a water sword, and slices Ripley. Sanji falls to his knees and chastises himself for being so weak, letting his fists hit the ground in frustration.
- Looking at his fists now blood-soaked he remembers Zeff, bandaging his hands. A series of images come from his time under Zeff eith the final image recalling Zeff's words to Sanji that he knows a fool chewing his own spear for no good reason.
- Sanji flashbacks to his conversation with Judge at the end of WCI, Zoro on Wano, thr conversation with Reiju in WCI regaridng his mother's sacrifice and finally the words Luffy said to him on WCI. "Sanji, without you... I won't...I can't be King of the Pirates".
- Sanji ignites his body on fire, his face shrouded. The air begins to crack as sparks emanate from Sanji's body.
- Killingham looks at him in shock breathlessly httering "No it can't be! Colour of the Supreme King...". As black lightning begins to crackle the air. Killingham fearfully goes to attack Sanji, but instead his trident shatters against Sanji's body.
- Sanji looks up at Killingham and declares, "I am Vinsmoke Sanji, Prince of the Germa Kingdom and Cook of the Strawhat Crew and for him to ascend the mantle, I'll have to be a Soaring King of the Heavens! Whether, with a heart of ice or a heart aflame, because Luffy is the man, who will be the King of the Pirates'.
- Chapter ends with Sanji whispering Majin Jambe...!!!!
