You forgot IMU is already on timelimit, we just don’t know when and how much time he got left

Perfect plot armor
Okay, so then the Gorosei could just shazam themselves through the Abyss Circle in the castle without Imu doing it. Lol. Literally, for the WG to lose, they need to refuse to call for help until its too late (despite how easy it would be) and for SOMEONE to get rid of that circle (because reinforcements can ALWAYS show up as long as its there). Despite not a single person even knowing that its a factor yet, and with much more pressing matters distracting them. I guess Gunko will be the one who has to tell them about that? Nobody else could. Kinda sucks though, reduces her role to damsel in distress and demon magic exposition lecturer.

......also, couldn't Imu just....give Gunko an order, in person or telepathically, and she would be forced to obey? So her helping in the long run would be WILD plot convenience. Lmao.

I was never against Luffy initially losing against Imu like he did Crocodile or Kaido, my point was only ever that he'd look better than Loki when all is said and done, which he will, if you think Luffy isn't coming back for another round then you're deluded, all I have to do is wait for the inevitable.

And that's assuming the leak is both genuine and means what you think it means.
I think you have a point if you assume that "all is said and done" means the series as a whole, Luffy is the MC after all.

But I think it's on the table that he doesn't really get multiple rounds against Imu in Elbaf at this point? It's highly likely that Imu goes down to some limitation of his powers(the transportation circles, the HK, idk), and I kind of struggle to imagine Oda doing another buildup for a Luffy vs Imu fight where Luffy isn't even going to win this arc

Though obviously we don't even know if he's actually knocked out this chapter, as you said.
