There is literally not a single phrase about Imu supposedly getting serious. In fact, there are multiple about him wanting to kill Loki. Only Loki lasted far more that poweupped Luffy, since base Loki >> Yonkou.

Loki got his five minutes to shine against a trolling Imu, but now we're seeing serious Imu who apparently handles Luffy and Loki individually rather easily.

When Goffy arrived Loki already fought Imu for multiple chapters and tanked multiple named attacks all in base/zoan

And Luffy himself pointed out how seriously injured Loki was and told him to rest even before the attack

So no there's no correlation here

And 120% G5 Luffy has no excuse to perform worse than nerfed base/zoan Loki

Damn, Imu got serious last chapter, stopped playing around, and just easily defeated Loki in seconds the moment his centuries-old archenemy Nika showed up. Luffy actually lasted a long time against him, considering he fought for this entire chapter against an Imu who had already shown he could impale and beat Loki in seconds.
