i think we should just wait for the official cause this translation is dogshit
Better translation now available on the first link, way cleaner.

My bad, what I meant was whether the ability of Benjamin’s nen beast has been revealed. It seems to be hinted at between the lines because, despite the poison, there is a belief that he can still rule kakin thanks to his nen beast

Also, after a reread, it looks like three of Beyond’s children have now been revealed: Furykov, Sarkov (the guard of Tserri who mentioned he could use zetsu since birth) and Longhi (the woman in Kurapika’s nen classroom).

I always considered this Succession War a side quest before the dark Continent, but it will most likely turn out even better than the chimera Ant arc (for those who can actually keep track of it). I am now genuinely invested in who will become king.

Just some of the many subplots running simultaneously in this arc:

  • The Succession war itself. (3 dead out of 14)
  • The Spiders vs Hisoka.
  • The Cha R family vs The Spiders, as they have mentioned on multiple occasions that the troupe is becoming a major nuisance.
  • Chrollo vs Hisoka Round 2, but before that, Chrollo mentions needing to steal a kakin national treasure to upgrade Skill hunter and secure a way to kill Hisoka for good.
  • Kurapika’s realization that the spiders is on board (man, I don't think he's making it off this ship alive:josad:).
  • Kurapika vs Tserri(Two nen beasts, plus his parallel future, which is basically an improved izanagi without the loss of an eye and the ability to see 10 seconds in the future)
  • The Heil ly family plot
  • Heil ly members reaching level 50 and above, with some preparing to take revenge against Hinrigh (the guy who turns weapons and tools into living animals).
  • They also finally found a specialist, who apparently used to be friend with tserri. Curious to see the ability she will receive
  • Xi yu vs Spiders(Hinrigh is now aware that one of their member, lynch, was killed by the copy of hisoka who was in fact bolonelov)
  • Heil ly vs Feitan, Phinks, and Nobunaga (with nobunaga actually starting to develop a strange respect for them).
  • Then we don't know whether Illumi, Beyond, pariston, Ging and the Zodiacs will actually remain on the sidelines this entire time.

It's very likely we might never even reach the fake Dark continent
You're right and my question about the introduction of "souls" as a concept was answered too with this better translation.

My current understanding is that it appears that Furykov deciphered Benjamin's nen beast ability by using his own specialization ability. It's still not 100% clear about the hows of Benjamin becoming "a god" or "a deity" of Kakin. For instance, what needs to be done exactly I believe. It is said he would merge his specialization aka "Benjamin Batton" with his nen beast. Implying that Benjamin's body will die and he will merge his "soul" with his nen beast that looks like a xenomorph. As it is said on chapter 410, he will make his child the new king of Kakin. Benjamin's body will die but his soul will merge with the xenomorph as a "a deity" aka his nen beast.

If understood well, this is quite exciting news :quest:

The one giving the order to poison Benjamin was his mother Unma.

The curse of the children of Beyond is also part of this scheme made by Furykov.
He is basically a triple-agent, working for Beyond or at least using his curse, working for Unma by being ordered by her to poison Benjamin and working for Benjamin.

Still have some unclear points. For instance how does "reflecting the curse back" is supposed to work ?

If Benjamin successfully merges with his nen beast. We will get a serious contender who might become as strong as Meruem. Just my idea but this is thrilling. Finally someone with powerful nen capacities since the chimera-ants arc so that we can cut the bullshit with the nen lessons of Kurapika.

I'm hyped about Benjamin becoming the new Meruem after special military law. But also think it's hilarious how even side-characters like Furykov have so much focus and character-development by scheming like a genius how to push Benjamin to become king asap.

IF flashbacks don't happen, we should get to the end of the martial law by the end of the 10 chapter batch (aka Benjamin remaining time to live) given the pace at which HxH advances. However, lots of things might happen simultaneously, which makes me believe that we might be in for a longer ride with Benjamin alive.

I've seen people expecting Benjamin turning into a nen beast not to happen basically because of storytelling rule that says that if "a villain" exposes his scheme, it gets undone by "goods guys" or whatnot other standard rules of writing. But I don't believe in that rule for Togashi as exposing the thoughts process and whatnot are just part of his writing style. Same thing happened with Chrollo explaining his abilities to Hisoka during their battle arena fight to death, but it didn't lead him to lose the fight.

That's been one of my favorite parts ngl

i love all the interactions in the class and learning more about nen

tho i think the class will prolly end now cause shit is going down
It's not that bad but it has become kinda repetitive I believe. Maybe if I read it again at once, I'll have a different approach.

In Chrollo's case, explaining the rules was a limitation he placed on himself to upgrade skill hunter iirc

In Benjy's case, him becoming a guardian deity and protecting Kakin means Kakin rules the world like he said. I don't see that happening. So either he does become a deity but gets defeated or sacrifices himself to take out Tserry or something, or he doesn't ascend.

Maybe he ascends and kakin prospers in the new continent or something. But Kakin will not rule the whole world of mankind inside lake mobius imo.

It was just a fan theory. I don't remember anything from the manga itself that said that.

Obviously, he will be countered but him merging with his nen beast is absolute hype.

Exactly, in anyway they're heading for the DC no matter what Beyond and other top hunters like Gin and Pariston will not allow to go back just because Benjamin chickened out in front of the DC.

Benjamin wants to have a higher chain of command than the king. He wants to be "take place of the seed urn" and merge with the "Kakin tree" which is either a metaphor but might as well be one of the treasures of Kakin.

Also, Benjy replacing the seed urn increases chrollo's chances of stealing the Urn and upgrading skill hunter. If we get a chrollo vs hisoka rematch it will be insane.

And Unma knowing Beyond and his curse children etc basically confirms that she is the one that Beyond made a prince with right?
Oito did not know shit about that. But that could have been because she's the youngest/newest queen.

But Unma having such extensive knowledge on beyond is confirmation that one of her kids is Beyond's, unless it is proven false later.

Clearly not Benjy. So either Tserry or Hulk. Tserry has been the front runner since the reveal of beyond having a prince cause of his similarities with young netero. But Unma trying to make Hulk the king throws a wrench on that.

I dont think beyond woulda made his prince kid so early as 4th. So i am still leaning more towards it being Hulk.

Unma is a fucking beast tho. All 3 of her kids are kinda insane. Nasubi shoulda just made more kids with her instead.

yeah but a theory based on pretty solid evidence

Chrollo says he now has more annoying conditions to deal with after getting the bookmark. And in the fight, we did not see any annoying conditions at all. So it must have been before the fight. Which just leaves the forced explanation. He had no reason to explain shit to Hisoka at all. Infact, had he not explained anything, i think he woulda actually killed Hisoka for good.

Kakin is ot going to DC. Just the new continent. Unless things change, Kakin will get off at new continent and only Beyong, his team and the hunter association will go to DC

Unma's relation to Beyond is indeed very close so it's highly likely and almost certain that she gave birth to "bastards". But both Beyond and the mothers treat their "bastards" as mere tools. So it doesn't matter very much. Maybe there are other mothers too, since we should have 12 cursed children by Beyond.

Also, Benjy replacing the seed urn increases chrollo's chances of stealing the Urn and upgrading skill hunter. If we get a chrollo vs hisoka rematch it will be insane.

Halkenburg is quite sane, he was just forced to take part in the war. But definitely a big chess player if that's what you mean by "insane".

One of the prince or princess is supposed to be a child of Beyond. But this could be anyone at this point. Even if Unma seems likely and more interesting given that her children are quite good at nen and mind games.

IIRC Beyond's prince child doesn't have a curse on him, which means that it could very well be Tserri even if he can't use nen since birth or at least consciously

There's also the possibility that Beyond is the father of more than one prince. Knowing how calculating the guy is, it's very likely that he would have thought that far ahead. He is not the kind of guy to put all his 'eggs' in one basket, no pun intended:araboss:
