I think before Enma, Zoro's Haki was just lying dormant inside him, that's why nobody noticed it, after Enma, Enma brought it out by drawing on it and making it go out of control, and now he can "leak" it all the time. In Ashura vs Kaido he used it unconsciously, it wouldn't make sense for him not to use it and for Kaido to comment on it.

I think there's an explanation about dormant Haki, that a person can simply spend their whole life with it dormant and never awaken it.

All in all after all that it shows that after wano Oda(or whoever writes the series nowadays) wanted to take Zoro another notch down and decided to stupidify his character to reach neanderthal levels,below even Luffy.. mostly for gag material.

Hence even the Lunarian stuff in Egghead..
He found a new gimmick for him,because just getting lost was not enough . He was to stoic and unusable in this era of gag piece.

Edit: All in all appalling decision by "Oda" . I guess he needed to throw some shade to Zoro since Luffy's G5 gag shit is obnoxious and he knows many of the readers don't like that shit..needs to take away some heat..
