i think imu was actually a animal lover...
way back...more than 800 years ago...before the void century there was a circus in the ancient kingdom..
imu jonboy and davy D jonz all worked there as circus performers..
joy boy was always kind to the animals..
imu-sama absolutely was super kind adored them...he'd pet them and feed em and all...
but davy D jonz... and the rest of humanity???..they were complet jerks!!!!..they kept abusing the poor animals for entertainment...or when animals desobeyed them..
every single day imu watched humans whip monkeys lions elephants...basically anything that breathed..
at first he tried to stay calm.
then he started noticing humanity's true nature..
"hold on... these people are kinda trash."
day after day...
whip...whip...whip..
until one day imu finally snaped : "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS $H!T!!!"
thats when he made the greatest reverse uno card in history..
"if humans love treating animals like circus attractions so much..."..."...then i'll treat humans like animals."
fast forward 800 years...
imu becomes king of the world.
builds the biggest circus ever created.
the entire world becomes his circus.
the celestial dragons are the vip audience.
the gorosei are the circus managers.
the holy knights are security.
and every time someone with the will of D shows up...
imu become ering master grabs the whip, smiles like a proud ringmaster, and goes:
"OH... YOU'RE A D, HUH??"
"WELCOME TO THE SHOW, MOFO!!!"
poor monkey D. luffy doesn't realize he's not fighting the king of the world...
