Gunko is simultaneously one of Imu’s biggest weapons in Elbaf while also potentially being a key to defeat him. The SHs need to defeat her Imu-possessed self and somehow rescue Shuri from Imu’s grasp.
I think fighting Gunko will probably be a group effort between Hajrudin and the mid/weak SHs. Hajrudin wants to aid Loki and avenge Harald, but he’s clearly too weak to fight Imu’s main body. Against Gunko however, he could play a pivotal role, especially if he is able to awaken Harald’s CoC genes.
Brook obviously wants to help Gunko and Jinbe will probably fight by his side. Jinbe is too strong to just be a sideline character this arc.
Lastly, I think Chopper could play a pivotal role in curing Gunko. He could cure domi reversi, so perhaps he will figure out how to undo HK seals as well.
Ultimately I feel like this would be a interesting plot for the mid hats and I hope Oda chooses it as opposed to making them spectators.
