Reason why Shanks might appear:

2) has relationships with Gaban
3) Friends with Elbaf giants like Harald and Loki
So Imu is literally hurting his friends, I doubt Shanks turn blind eye and shurrgged like that. He will be very angry.
If he and his crew, shanks would order crewmatea take wound people to safety.
