Questions & Mysteries Will Oda ever make Teach vs Imu? The opponents of BB theme

#21
Teach already tricked them once, doing it twice would be crazy. :vistalaugh:

Awakening will be probably similar to that.

There were theories about Shiryu going to Wano, and it's most likely he has family ties with Wano as well.
Yeah, Shiryu of the Rain has a similar naming style to Raizo of the Mist, Kikunojo of the Lingering Snow, and Hyogoro of the Flower. He also resembles the Uzuki Family, who ruled over the Udon area, just like he was the head jailer of Impel Down.

Teach said the wants Hachinosu to become Blackbeard Kingdom with him as the King and be part of the World Government.
Do you think he will fail this plan?
He already have Garp as a hostage.
Now if Imu fails at Elbaf, the WG will have no choice but to add an additional powerhouse.

Seems like a perfect situation for his plan isn't it?

Also, Teach doesn't have an alliance and lots of friends like Luffy does.
Meaning Teach has no way of matching the WG's Military prowess.
How exactly is he going to be the King of the World unless he does it from the inside?

If we look at what kind of opponents Blackbeard has so far, there is a clear pattern;

  • Shanks (wounded his eye)
  • WB Pirates (Thatch, Ace, WB)
  • Garp and Sengoku
  • Bonney pirates
  • WB Pirates again (Marco, Jozu, Vista)
  • Aokiji (small confrontation ended with Aokiji joining him)
  • Used Koby and Trafalgar Law as distraction to take over Pirate Island
  • Revolutionaries (Sabo vs Burgess, continued at Headquarter Baltigo)
  • SHawk (Mihawk copy, Mihawk is also now related to SH Pirates)
  • Boa Hancock
  • Silvers Rayleigh
  • Captured Pudding
  • Koby, then Garp
  • 3 billion Trafalgar Law

The pattern is clear, it's almost always the "good" / helpful or "neutral" people that related to SH Pirates. He took out Magellan before as well, but not when it work for Luffy's favor.

So Oda usually choose to pick battles with that theme for Teach. Oda wants Teach clean up Luffy's allies or friends, not directly putting him against the World Government or other Pirates without an ambush, or without making them wait to land the finishing blow.

Oda doesn't want Teach to take out guys like Akainu, Holy Knights, Greenbull, Kaido so those can be Luffy's opponents, Oda wants him to take out the guys that Luffy might hesitate to take out.

If there will be a confrontation between Teach and Imu, it could indirectly or it could be when Imu is weakened so he can land the finishing blow.

To set up even more confrontation, now Caribou will deliver the info about Ancient Weapons, once again Luffy's "friends" on Wano or Fishman Island will have to confront BB Pirates.

Possible next confrontations based on the theme;

- Fishman Island (probably can send two of his crewmembers there)
- Fujitora (Luffy literally said he doesn't want to take him out while fighting him)
- Wano (Yamato and Samurai)
- Other worstgen members
- Rayleigh or Boa Hancock again
- Koby again
- Shanks again
- Revolutionaries again (Dragon or Sabo or others)
- Cross Guild (also has ties with Luffy but not strong ties like the others)

What you think about the next opponent of BB Pirates?
Regardless of who the final antagonist turns out to be, even if it is not Imu, Teach, Jones, or some other entity from the Harley texts, I still believe this specific scenario will play out:

Once Imu is forced to retreat from Elbaf when his time limit kicks in, I believe he will be shocked to hear that Teach has arrived at the Holy Land with ships loaded with rations, requesting an audience to hand over Garp in exchange for joining the World Government as a formal king. Imu will take Garp, imprisoning him to use as leverage against Luffy, and accept Teach's proposal by granting him a Deep Sea pact.

Asking why I believe this scenario is bound to happen? The Figarland twins.

Shanks and Shamrock look exactly alike yet possess completely opposite goals, almost as if Oda wanted both Teach and Luffy to defeat a "Shanks" character but needed a narrative way to balance it. Ultimately, Teach will defeat Shanks and earn the World Government's trust even further, while Luffy will defeat Shamrock and draw the full wrath of Imcel upon himself.

Teach is waiting at the Flower Room for Imu to come back from Elbaph, weakened (not only because of the time limit, but also possibly due to Sommers and Killingham's deaths). Then he enacts revenge upon his father's death, kills Imu, gets his DF and becomes the de facto WG ruler. The Elders (sans Garling) get Saturn'd and turn into skeletons or Teach just receives the admin rights to their Covenants and continues where Imu left off, highly depends on if Oda wants to save the current Elders for a Zoro vs Venusjuro because of the Kitetsu stuff or Warcury vs whomever. If all Elders except Garling die, it will be revealed that Garling was slowly climbing the GK ladder in order to have a chance to take Imu and the rest of the Elders out of the equation (and the reason why he was so adamant about letting Imu exit the Holy Land and go to the lower realm's surface) and give the Figarland dinasty a chance at eventually becoming the supreme rulers of the WG, placing all his hopes on Shamrock, who, coincidentally or not, has the Cerberus DF. And thus sweet poetic justice when it turns out that the man that directly and indirectly helped Teach attain the throne has been the same man that dealt the fatal blow to his father in God Valley.

Oh and also it will be revealed that in order to get to the Flower Room, Teach had to kill Kizaru, who was summoned to Marie Geoise after the Egghead events to report on Saturn's status. Teach has the best counter for the Light Logia, and Oda definitely wants to parallel Xebec killing an Admiral in the Holy Land with Teach doing the same. This also fits the OP's thesis about Teach going after people who are neutral and/or allies of Luffy and the SHs, specially considering that it's all but confirmed that Kizaru wasn't taking the fight seriously and even fed Luffy so that he could recover after wasting out G5's time limit. Kizaru's death will open up an Admiral spot that will be filled by the Orange Admiral, and also it will be the last nail in the coffin for Akainu to start a coup d'etat and break up from the WG alltogether (regardless of if Teach retains the current Elders or not) and directly pursue the Emperors and take part in the race for the One Piece.

Alternatively I think @Blackbeard's scenario has lots of potential, and may even be compatible with the one I laid out, just with extra steps while Teach gets the necessary pieces (Pluton and/or Poseidon, Galley-La frozen giants perhaps?) to backstab the WG and take everything he can out of them.

Regardless of how it plays out when it comes to the finer details... Imagine thinking Imu is FV material after Oda is cramming all his 19 magic weapons and bullshit DF hax in the recent chapters while Teach keeps growing in power offscreen.

For sure his name style is similar. There is also the fact that he used Samurai term Kiri-sute gomen when he cut down the guards in Impel Down.

He can succeed, that's why he is the FV material with Davy Jones potential.

It will be very difficult to convince them fight together, if it happens it will be crazy.
Notice how Teach couldn't beat S-Hawk btw
"couldn't" ? , SHawk attacked him not Teach, then Shawk run away after 1 darkness attack, he didn't even use quake for him. Later on, Teach kidnapped 800 Marines, they couldn't even tell 2 Seraphims Shawk and Ssnake to fight Teach while he was kidnapping Marines.

Imu vs Blackbeard could become a reality if Imu is fighting on two fronts.

Like the tot musica character. One half is fighting Luffy, while the other half is fighting Blackbeard.
Simuntaneously they will attack to kill/Defeat Imu.

My homeless virgin pet @Boiroy is still stalling by making AI slops avatars about his master, still running away from the One Piece discussion. :milaugh:

Could be, but Oda usually puts Teach against the "good" guys, that's his opponents theme. So it's unlikely Teach vs Imu would happen at full power. Because Oda doesn't want to make him look like a hero by making him fight the bad guys, with every fight Blackbeard wins, Luffy need to be mad; beating Ace, then WB pirate remnants or Revolutionaries, then Law etc, so the battle vs Luffy will be greater.
