He only used 1% of his power. He wasn’t testing their strength he just wanted to see the white form to confirm this is the kid Joyboy was talking about
Obviously gaban was holding back but don't try to act like he was barely trying. The very first attack he did on luffy was him using adcoc that's not 1% of his power that's him obviously trying and making himself a serious threat. On top of that he was likely using fs. He was testing them. If luffy just shown g5 and didn't do anything gaban would have still fought because he was trying to see how strong they were not just see g5. It was luffy and zoro using adhaki and about to attack gaban where he was satisfied with their strength so gave up. If they fight kept going he'd end up seriously hurt and had 0 chance of winning so was literally no point in continuing to test them. If luffy just going g5 wouldn't have been enough because gaban still wouldn't have seen Luffy’s strength unless luffy attacked him. Are you saying if luffy used g4 and attacked gaban with zoro would have kept fighting? He didn't even know luffy was going to use g5. He want to know how strong they were and if they could handle loki it was obviously a test of their strength. If he just wanted to see g5 he'd have asked luffy to show him his white form in exchange for the key.

He wasn’t using ACoC on Luffy when he used Yasotakeru. And no the 1% is canon since going serious it’s Yachitakeru which is literally 8,000 strong generals compared to the 80 strong generals he used on Luffy and Zoro.

And yeah, Gaban only wanted to see the white form. He literally said “Indeed, all in white” with a smile on his face when he used it.

He didn’t give a shit about them being able to handle Loki cause Gaban knew Loki was a good person who wasn’t going to harm Elbaf.

He started the fight using adcoc and was likely using fs. He made himself a theat so they take him seriously. The entire point leading up to the fight was loki and how they could deal with him and the rumors he's heard. He was testing them to confirm the rumors and see if they could handle loki. Gaban wasn't using 1% of his power to face luffy and zoro. And naming schemes don't scale to actual power. That's like saying luffy used 5% of power vs imu because he used a basic base adcoc punch to hit imu. Obviously overall luffy wasn't using like 5% of his power and you wouldn't judge the fight with imu by a basic adcoc punch from base luffy so why do it with gaban? Overall gaban wasn't using just 1% of his power and naming schemes mean nothing they aren't literal measurements. Luffy isn't literally turning into a pistol when he uses gum gum pistol. Gaban was holding back but he was fighting luffy seriously to show he was a threat and not just messing around. They were literally treating him like a old man and wouldn't attack him unless he shown he was a threat.

Luffy’s g5 is part of the rumors he's heard. He didn't know luffy was going to use g5 he was seeing if they were strong enough to face loki if loki attacked. You also ignored him saying luffy has a fine crew. What would the crew matter if he only wanted to see g5? Not the last time if all he wanted was to see g5 why didn't he ask luffy to go g5 and he'd give him the key? Wouldn't the whole purpose being wanting to see g5 would be to see how strong luffy was? Even in you making that his sole motivation it's still about testing.

Loki attacks recklessly and would absolutely kill the sh's if they weren't strong enough to stop him. Loki is a loose cannon that will attack anyone that gets in his way of what he wants to do in the moment. That's why shanks had to beat loki at some point despite both not being a real threat to elbaf. The sh's were hell bent on freeing loki and if he attacked them after being freed they'd die if they weren't strong enough to fight him. Gaban was testing because of the rumors he heard, them trying to free loki, and luffy reminding him of roger. He didn't stop specifically for g5. Both luffy and zoro were using adcoc and were about to stop treating him like a old man and fight him seriously. He would end up hurt and injured and he already confirmed thier strength when they were serious so he stopped.

He literally commented on G5 then surrendered. And no naming schemes with numbers do mean something. They have since pre timeskip when we see Zoro go from 36 pound cannon to 72 to 108 by increasing the power via increasing numbers of swords. Yes Gaban only used an attack approximately 1% of his strongest in canon. And no, it wasn’t about seeing Luffys power it was purely to see if Luffy was truly this return of Joyboy since he knew the prophecy and was literally waiting for the new Joyboy…

Gaban wasn’t testing strength at all lmao

Why are you ignoring the entire lead up to the fight? The entire lead up was the rumors he's heard about luffy, then how dangerous loki is, and then luffy reminding him of roger. Then he decides they have to take the key from him after they still wantedto free loki. After seeing they wouldn't fight him seriously he uses a adcoc attack and plants luffy then follows it up with a attack that'd damage luffy if he didn't defend himself. After that luffy and zoro use adcoc and are going to attack him. Then seeing their power he surrendered. He wasn't using 1% of his power. He forced them to use their powers to see how strong they were. If they free loki and they were weak loki could kill them which gaban doesn't want so had to see how strong they were. Them both showing adcoc was enough to say they could handle themselves and that they were strong so he dropped the fight.

2. The higher number means 1 extra sword for zoro. Higher numbers just means stronger attack same with gaban. The 360 pound cannon only put a hole in a big fish smaller than the sunny. The 1080 pound cannon destroyed a a giant pica stone structure far bigger than the sunny. By naming scheme the 1080 pound cannon is vastly more than 3 times 360. 1080 pound cannon looked alot stronger than ten times 108. It's just a naming scheme to show higher number means stronger attack. Zoro can argument the attack with haki yet by naming scheme it'd still only be 10 times stronger than 108 pound cannon and 3 times strongerthan 360 pound cannon. It's almost like naming scheme isn't meant to be seen literally.

3. Still refusing to answer why didn't gaban just ask luffy to go into his white form in exchange for the key? If that's all he wanted why even fight when it's something luffy would have done without much kick back? Why did he force a fight when he didn't need to?

Because Gaban showed that he knows Lokis true nature. He was just seeing how Luffy would react to the information about Loki. Since Luffy reminded him of Roger he showed Luffy where the key was.

2. The naming scheme is literally to show how much more powerful the attacks are in comparison to their previous versions. That’s the point of them. Saying it’s nothing is just cope.

3. Because thats not fun for Gaban?

I don’t know why you’re coping about this. We’re shown directly why Gaban did it.

I don’t know why you’re coping about this. We’re shown directly why Gaban did it.
1. Loki true nature is violence. Overall he's on a good side but if the sh's had pissed him off or stopped him from doing something he wants to do loki would kill them on first meeting. Loki offered to take out any crew didn't matter if they were good or bad or anything for freeing him. If someone else freed him and told him to take out the sh he'd had attacked the sh's and try to kill them. Loki is only good because he going along with luffy he has 0 issues with killing for really no reason. He'd be bad if he was with bb for example. Gaban understands this and freeing him is a risk if you can't defend yourself against him. He constantly warns the sh's about loki because loki is volatile then only fights when they wouldn't leave loki alone. He tried to talk them out of it and seeing that that wouldn't work he made sure they'd be able to protect themselves. If they were to weak he wouldn't have let them go until they were stronger aka he tested them seeing as they were determined to go to loki.

2. No higher number just means stronger attack not precise percentage of power. Agenda piece is striking again because ot makes gaban look stronger saying he only used 1% of his power vs luffy and zoro which is just dumb. In the example 360 pound cannon isn't 3 times weaker than 1080 pound cannon by damage output. 1 put a hole in a big fish smaller than the sunny while the other destroyed a structure many times bigger than the sunny. This is not a 3 times difference in output and it doesn't account for haki. Zoro didn't use haki on either attack. If he used it on 1080 pound cannon than it would even further get stronger showing it's not just 3 times while still being 1080 pound cannon. Naming scheme isn't meant to be taken literally it just to show higher number means stronger attack not exact percentage of power. Literally show anywhere that's been the case in op outside of trying to wank gaban. If gaban takes the haki mass off his attack is it still 100 times stronger? If put haki mass Yasotakeru is it still 1% of his power despite how much effort he has to put in? This is just silly man.

3. You said he only wanted to see g5 now he wants to have fun. You can't keep changing the motivation of gaban to suit you. If it was just to have fun why even talk at all and not just fight ? That would be the most interesting as they wouldn't have known who he was, would get shocked that he was a roger pirate, and then would have to deal with the confusion of why he's attacking him and forcinghim to bring out g5. That's the obviously more interesting route but he didn't do that so obviously isn't about him having fun. If it was just to see g5 he would've only asked to see it in exchange for the key. It's obvious his main motivation is the concern of how loki would act against them. He only chose to fight when they wouldn't leave loki alone. If they took his warning and left loki alone there wouldn't have even been a fight as loki was the primary reason. You are acting like loki is a angel who wouldn't hurt a fly instead of a dangerous pirate with no issues with hurting and killing other people for little to no reason.

4. Yea we did get shown because luffy and zoro got serious and shown there powers. He was testing them to see how strong they were and if they could handle loki. After seeing it he gave up. You are forgetting he has fs and probably seen what attacks they did and judged it was enough so surrendered. Yet again he knows he can't beat both and continuing the fight after seeing there powers was pointless he had enough that loki would beat them easily and they can defend themselves. You are acting like him commenting on g5 means it's his primary motivation but then ignore him commenting on the crew. It's obviously not just g5 he wanted to see. He commented on it because luffy used it. If luffy used g4 and adhaki the fight would have still ended because he wanted to see how strong they were and wouldn't die to a loki tantrum. Anyone seeing g5 for the first time will comment on it that doesn't make it the sole motivation for the characters because they acknowledged g5. Go reread 1139 and 1140 and tell me how g5 was the primary focus for gaban not the thier strength to survive loki.
