Powers & Abilities Did Oda showcase next level of Haki through Gaban?

Will Shanks shows even stronger Haki than Gaban?

Self-explanatory, Gaban just showcase one of the best Haki feats in the verse against Imu. Being able to split Adam tree branches with Haki lightning which is Onigashima/Marineford sized by pixel scaling.

So Gaban casually chopping multiple Onigashimas is hilarious, considering the fact that Gaban wants to minimize the damage on Adam tree as much as possible, meaning that Gaban could have chop Adam tree in pieces if he wanted to.

Yea, I don't think I need to explain about Adam tree size.

But enough Gaban glaze yapping and back to the main topic, what Gaban did to Imu is no doubt a better Haki feat than when Shanks arrived on Whitebeard's ship and exudes some of his Haki aura, that managed to nicked the ship a little bit.

Now obviously Shanks was just flexing and giving warnings to the WBP to not mess with the dude so Shanks wasn't shown off any major Haki feat there. It's not a Shanks downscale for saying Gaban's Haki > Shanks' Haki comparison but it's actually the opposite. If Gaban can do this kind of level of Haki, imagine what full power Shanks' Haki could do.

Shanks Chads, Haki Susanoo and Haki Kamehameha is coming.:endthis:

We already knew haki itself can do damage, because we have statements telling us for example a weapon can withstand the might of it's users haki, like WB and Kaido, so haki can shatter a sword for example. So it makes sense that haki can inflict physical damage on it's surroundings like a ship, or if directed consciously like Gaban has talked about and recently done, can inflict much more damage.

Thats always what I was wondering when we saw Joyboy's strongest haki, I thought to myself "what if all this haki that doesn't seem to be directed at any one place, was concentrated into a single point" kind of like how shanks used wifi haki directly on greenbull but a singular concentrated haki bolt so to speak

Also since we already know someone can use CoC to KO opponents but then selectively choose who gets KO'ed it makes sense they can choose to specifically single out one thing as the focal point of their will.

Even in this case, when you look at Gaban cutting the branch, he decided to direct his attack with equal force in many directions, but what if he had singled out only imu?

Like how roger and garp did against domi xebec.

Then the extent of damage could potentially have been more, but he probably calculated in his mind that even that would not be enough to stop Imu so he went for spreading out the force of the attack to cut the branches instead.

Although there is not much of a point even if it's just buying a little time, because Imu can just fly so. But it certainly was a flex either way

Good analysis. Haven't thought about it like that.

But yeah you're right, even if Gaban were to concentrated his Haki into one singular burst against Imu, it probably isn't enough to defeat him so his best choice was cutting off the ground aka the tree branches that they were standing on.

Shanks' Bluetooth Haki against Ryokugyu is definitely a good example of concentrated singular Haki burst like you said. Also, Joyboy's Haki knot inside Emeth is another good example of this despite how ridiculous it was.
