There's bad blood brewing between Cross Guild and SWORD.

It started when T-Bone was brutally murdered over a bounty by a starving civilian.

Sengoku's bum ass bitching about this when he caused it by killing Newgate... gehhhhhh...

This was only the precursor: Garp has been acquired by Blackbeard, after attacking Hachinosu without orders. Remember, Blackbeard is a Yonkou. You need Fleet Admiral clearance to attack a Yonkou crew, we know this from Lucci testing Luffy in Egghead.

So, Garp attacked a Yonkou territory without permission, adding to a list of other... transgressions. The CDs hate Garp, but, he's survived due to his service. He's old, now, and the Fleet Admiral is someone who he has key disagreements with in Sakazuki.

The WG will Dishonorably Discharge Garp, making Blackbeard's deal impossible. So, Teach pivots, and sells Garp to the Cross Guild for 3 Billion Clean Berry, and, as a homage to Ace, Blackbeard and Cross Guild will broadcast Garp's execution live. This is the kind of shit Teach lives for: to rub the Marines' hypocrisy in their face. Garp let his own son die, for the sake of the scum Celestial Dragons.

Since Teach is going to be busy, though, I think, with Pluton and Poseidon.

So, Cross Guild will manage the execution. And this sets up a lot of conflict Oda's been teasing for awhile.

To begin with, Mihawk's old epithet is literally "The Marine Hunter." The Marines hold grudges, and I'm sure plenty of them remember those they lost to Mihawk in his wilder youth.

Mihawk will fight Bogard, Garp's right-hand man, who has been teased in the background for years, and was on Egghead. I believe Bogard often stays behind to protect Garp's men when Garp flies off the handle and pursues his own Justice. Now, Bogard will be forced to rescue his friend.

Next up is Smoker vs Crocodile. There's blood in the sand, here, with Croc trying to kill Smoker in Alabasta, and injuring Tashigi in the process. Now, Crocodile is actively putting bounties on and hunting Smoker's comrades/friends. And he will take that personally. Smoker will regret not taking down Crocodile himself in Alabasta, and take it on himself to stop Croc, now. We should see both of their Awakenings, here, and I expect both to deploy Seastone in the fight.

Tashigi is gonna go after Shiryu over Garp and Shiryu's Sword Raiu, but, Tashigi honestly deserves her own Wano Act 4 thread, which I'll make... someday.

And finally, the main attraction, KOBY AND HELMEPPO VS BUGGY

Buggy is an actual Yonkou now, and, even Tsuru legit believes he is powerful. The Marines are going to dedicate serious resources to killing Buggy, as funny as that sounds.

So... the greatest villain must fight the greatest Hero, and Koby is the new Hero of the Marines, Garp's hand-picked protege.

Buggy vs Koby and Helmeppo will be the gag fight that feeds generations. I believe Buggy asked Mihawk for training after 1082, seriously desiring to become stronger.

Koby was introduced as a weakling who has risen to be a Hero of the Marines, while Buggy was introduced as a semi-strong Pirate, who was then revealed to be super weak compared to the verse, before then growing in power in other ways.

However... Buggy has regained his Will. His Desire. His Dream.

Buggy has finally broken through his own cowardice. At death's door, he stood up to the World's Strongest Swordsman, and a former Warlord with incredible Marineford feats, and declared he wants to be King of the Pirates.

So, despite being a gag fight on some levels, this will be a very serious fight. Buggy's Captain, Roger, found the One Piece, which Koby is now determined to stop Luffy from finding. If Koby doesn't want Luffy finding Laugh Tale, he sure as hell doesn't want a dude putting bounties on Marines, like Buggy, to find it.

After Koby declares he will stop Luffy from becoming King of the Pirates, who do we see?

That's right, the God of the Pirates, fucking Buggy

And... can you tell the difference? Like, actually look at Buggy in 1082 compared to 1122. This is a man who has begun to believe in himself.

There is also a big difference in his portrayal: in 1082, Buggy looked NEAR DEATH, but, in 1122... he's well dressed, his face is clean.

However much Buggy's declaration in 1082 pissed Mihawk and Crocodile off, Vegapunk vindicated him entirely immediately after.

After this announcement in 1121, Crocodile and Mihawk were forced to go along with Buggy's declaration to find the One Piece. And, in 1122, we see Buggy address the people directly. Would Croc and Mihawk allow this, if they weren't on board? Nope.

Cross Guild is officially in play for Laugh Tale.

Crocodile: "Just sit." Way less anger/derision than before.

Mihawk respects grit when he sees it. Look at Mihawk's face, in 1082, when Buggy announced to Cross Guild they're going to claim the One Piece. Mihawk is LEGIT shocked, we've never seen him make a face like this before.

Mihawk will help Buggy grow strong, since Crocodile and him can't afford to have such a weakling as the figurehead of their organization, it would made them look bad.

So?

The next time we see Buggy... he should be close to Koby's level. It will be a real fight.

And I believe this is Koby's real rival: Koby and Buggy will become rivals, over Cross Guild's actions, and Buggy's hatred for Garp.

How strong is Bogard, are you trying to say he was on Ray or Gaban's level in his prime? is he at least admiral level right now?

Mihawk vs Bogard is your idea of a fight that will make fans go "oh wow so that's mihawks strength" ?

That's your idea of a pay of for waiting for Mihawk to showcase him actually trying?

This post is mainly buggy glaze and to do that you have to pull Mihawk into a certain situation, but your bias is clear. So then tell me how will bogard look impressive enough to the point that Mihawk fighting him is hype in any sense.

Bogard could be established on the level of King, Mihawk could one shot him and that still wouldn't do much for MIhawk, because that's already expected.

I think Bogard is in his prime, unlike Garp. So, I think he's... near, or above Hachinosu Garp.

I believe he's strong because he's Garp's right hand man, and he's been teased in the background a lot. I view him like Kong: it's become a meme, sure, but the guy is strong.

We've already seen Mihawk clash with someone we know is weaker than him in Vista. Mihawk took his time with EAST BLUE Zoro. I think it will be a good fight, but Mihawk will be clearly superior. Think Gyaban vs Imu: it will make both characters look good.

Yeah, Buggy's DF is going to be very busted when he Awakens.

I think Mihawk mid-diffs Bogard, Koby high-diffs Buggy or they get interrupted, and Smoker high-diffs Crocodile.

I also have Shanks trying to rescue Garp, tho, so I could see Shanks saving Bogard from Mihawk. I hope we at least see Shanks and Mihawk clash, in the modern era.

If I had to predict, Bogard's Cross Guild fights look like this: Daz Bones beats Tashigi easy. Bogard beats Daz Bones easy. Mihawk beats Bogard mid-diff. Shanks steps in to try to save Garp, since Garp raised Luffy, and Roger's Son, Ace. Shanks and Mihawk get interrupted by WG forces.

The only characters without Imu demonic hax that can fight Mihawk in a clean 1v1 and damage him significantly at this point are Shanks, Kaido, Akainu, Kuzan, Fujitora, enraged Linlin, and possibly Loki and Garp (Kuzan was holding back on Hachinosu), IMO. Not sure about Shamrock, either, but I think he at least deserves a mention.

So, yeah, I'd say Bogard will be at the Admiral level below Kuzan and Akainu, around Kizaru/Aramaki. I have Fuji ranked higher than most.

"We've already seen Mihawk clash with someone we know is weaker than him in Vista. " Bruh we do not know vista is weaker than Bogard Vista is a veteran on WB's crew, just like Jozu and Marco. His swordsmanship is world class whereas we no next to nothing about Bogard.

I agree it would make sense if bogard was strong because he's Garp's right hand man, but for all the battles Garp has fought, vs Chinjao or Roger, we have never seen Bogard have to fight any strong opponent like Rayleigh/gaban or even a second to Chinjao for example.

I would need to see a flashback of Bogard literally holding off Gaban while Garp chases Roger for me to be convinced.

Look at old Gaban's feats right now, you're telling me that bogard's around current Garp level, so Imu would say to Bogard "As expected as of the right hand man of The Hero.. if I'd known you were this strong I'd have killed you along with Xebec" Adam tree branch-eater Bogard, if that's the case why didn't bogard just dice hachinosu into dozens of pieces so the piece that Garp is on would come floating back to the ship. Damn they had to nerf Bogard hard, couldn't have him stealing the show from Garp.

If Bogard was built that different my reaction would be "oh damn my fault og" but then I'd have to question why he didn't even attempt to aid Garp with that kind of strength.
