Probably Naruto, sharingan got retconned into every bullshit plot device to ever exist.

Gear 5 was a retcon but it's a singular thing on a main character. Sharingan infested the entire series of Naruto whenever Kishimoto wanted to explain away whatever game breaking power he came up with next. Including dimension hopping, rewriting reality, coming back to life and whatever other hand of god crap you can think of.

Sharingan was the most overpowered bullshit plot device in the history of manga/anime.

Then of course there is Kaguya and her alien family. At least with Imu we have seen constant hints of devils and other-worldly things. It was a natural progression after the Gorosei. In Naruto it came out of nowhere. Sage of six paths was originally a mythological legend, but he got reduced to a standard alien and there are plenty more where he came from.

There is one retcon that I feel is largely ignored, but yet, fairly damning. And that is Zabuza. Remember how Kohonagakure was hired for protection of a bridge being constructed? And Zabuza was to destroy it?

This aspect of the Shinobi being mercenaries was totally forgotten by the end of the arc, and by the time skip, all of them were basically Samurai all but in name with the Kage being the de facto leader of their Land.

One Piece, a lot of early Naruto does get retconned or soft retconned—Gaara was host to an evil monk spirit named Shukaku, which Kishi changed to the known alias of the previous Jinchuuriki of the Shukaku.

But ocne Shippuden starts, I don't remember many retcons. It's mostly a through-line to the finale.

If we knew nothing of a figure, and as we learn more we learn his actual background that is just a standard reveal. It is as revealing his real name is Hagoromo and not the sage of six paths lol.

A retcon would be if we were told he was born from some human mother or something, and later we learn Kaguya is from somewhere else for example. In a series filled with retcons you choose to focus on an obvious example of lore reveal instead

Things don't need to be outright stated for it to be considered a retcon. Early Naruto was an established human/spiritual world, not an extra-terrestrial, sci-fi, moon people/parasite story.

In fact, not just early Naruto, pretty much the entire way through until the end. The sage of six paths was a completely unique entity, said to be a monk who was the first person to discover chakra. Kishimoto pulling an alien out of his ass and dropping a whole bunch of them is not just a 'lore reveal', it is completely rewriting the established lore and tone of the series.

“Reframe” is dubious and can be used to describe any new detail as a retcon

the Sage of six paths being alien would fall under reframe, but so will 100% of any new reveal in any story. Again out of all the things to call a retcon Hagoromo having an alien mother really ain’t that
