So, with Imu's Omen, and Luffy's Gear 5 powers clearly being able to effect other people, with the eyes popping out, a lot of people have made a good point: will Luffy use Gear 5 to power up others?
And I believe the answer is: YES.
However, I think there's another element to this. Rubber absorbs force/energy. So... I think Gear 5 allows Luffy to turn other people's Dreams into his own Haki.
Why was Luffy able to handle Kaido, and has looked weaker than that fight ever since?
Like, where was this shit against Kizaru? Warcury? Gyaban?
I honestly believe it is dreams. In Wano, you had not only the Raiders, but the country itself desperately praying the prophecy was real.
I no longer think this is coincidence: I think the Dreams of Wano were a legit power-up for Luffy, here.
I mean, what are Dreams, but manifestation of Will? And Will is Haki. If Luffy's dreams are aligned with the dreams of others around him... him turning that power into Will/Haki directly really isn't that ridiculous.
We know from Roger/Garp and Kaido/Linlin that you can combine your Haki into an attack. Well... then, why can't you transfer Haki into someone else, directly?
We already have an entity that can suck your own Haki out, Linlin on baby-making night Enma
I legit think Luffy can absorb the Will of others and make it his own, and this is what makes him so dangerous.

Luffy will freely fight for his friend's dreams as if they were his own, and this makes EVERYONE who he helps want to fight beside him.
Well, in Egghead... we just didn't have that many people to work with.
And, in Elbaph, once again, it's not that many people. BUT, there is a lot of strong warriors with Haki, so he should get a bigger boost, here.
If this theory is accurate Luffy should be strongest, WHILE fighting with others. Luffy fighting with a force like the Grand Fleet would be A GIGANTIC BOOST for him, because it would be a ton of strong fighters, like the Samurai in Wano, putting their beliefs in him/a shared dream. And, it's even more broken if they don't have to believe in Luffy directly, just have the same dream as him, like with the Lanterns in Wano.
At this point, you should be thinking back to a popular Shonen technique:
Under this theory, Bajrang Gun is pretty much a fist-based Spirit Bomb.
So, I think that's the biggest knock against this theory, Oda would never lift something from another series- LOLOLOL, sorry just wanted to troll a bit.
So, yeah. On some levels, I think Gear 5 is like a walking Spirit Bomb, Luffy can absorb the Will of others fighting for the same Dream as him.
