Controversial The existence of Imu ruins the manga

not for me tbh, but each their own
I really like the Holy Knights, Shamrock, Sommers, and Killingham, gunko and gurou, whom I find to be great new characters.

I've always liked the Five Elders, and Garling is a really cool addition.

But I really don't like Imu, I hate him.

all that I don't like is the suddenness of the big elbaf events, I would have liked to go into these things more prepared and set up as a reader

but now that things are rolled out I like it more and more

To me it's the opposite. I always wanted One Piece to have that end-game Madara type antagonist.
Kaido comes a bit closer to that, but in the end, he was just a stepping stone, a mid-series antagonist.
Imu will be remembered as THE main baddie like Madara was in Naruto.

No, the manga's lack of consequences and putting narrative over logic on top of introducing a bazillion side characters each arc, while Of paneling most of the intresting stuff ruins the manga:josad:

Luffy's always had 2 main competitors: Pirates for the One Piece and the WG for the Will of D.

BB is the main one for the first, Imu for the second.
BB will be known and remembered by One Piece fans who have inside information, but when outsiders will have a look at One Piece, Imu is going have more appeal to them.
Many people are spoiled on who the main antagonists are for popular titles.
Like how I knew Darth Vader before even starting Star Wars, etc.

Imu is going to be that character. The main bad

The World Government in general being a bunch of 100% evil people ruled by a demon, kinda ruins the manga,in the sense that i would have prefered a story with more moral ambiguity, like one could think at the beginning

We had from the beginning both good and bad pirates, and good and bad Marines/Government people, and this moral ambiguity made the story more complex

Now,we know that the Government is full of demonic people and slave owners people,so we know it must be defeated at any cost, and they are the number 1 enemy, even if we have some bad pirates around like Blackbeard
