General & Others How many more backstories wanji need to get close to Zoro in popularity?

#2
The problem is 2nd place is reserved for Zoro, who represents Japan. This is why Sanji is purposely given unlikable traits, "embarrassing" moments, flawed things, etc.

So it doesn't matter if he's given a lot of things by Oda, his flaws alone is more than the rest of SH combined. He's eternally 3rd/4th placer.

Meanwhile, Zoro is made to be ideal & flawless. Sanji can't compete with this kind of setup.

And don't forget Japan's vote is worth 10X everyone else's. Since they can send in postcards worth 10 votes.

None. Zero.

Zoro gets no backstories and continues to eclipse Sanji in popularity

what Sanji needs is HYPE MOMENTS and AURA to keep up, since thats the only thing the low IQ Zoro fans care about.

and unfortunately, those type of fans are the majority.

Sanji will never surpass Zoro in popularity because he's not the type of character most fans want in a battle shonen. On the other hand, Zoro perfectly embodies all the characteristics: cool, he has aura, he's loyal, he has muscles, he's strong and confident, and he charges the enemy without thinking twice.

Always loved this elitist mentality.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying hype moments and aura.
I simply enjoy Zoro's screentime more than Sanji's, that's all. It's not deep.
Whether a character has more depth or not is irrelevant, because ultimately it's about screentime enjoyment.
(I'm not saying I never like deeper characters)
