The future of the marines
The fight that will have been awaited for over 30 years
Pirate King Luffy vs Marine Admiral Coby
Akainu yonko/PK level? Admirals vs yonkos?
Just as Luffy will surpass the man who became the king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger, whose subordinate Oden was going to mid diff the strongest creature in the world, yonko Kaido, likewise Coby will surpass his mentor Garp, the hero of the marines.
Yonkos and marines will be irelevant when it comes to the top of the verse, especially as other side-character worstgen members, such as Kid and Law, reach yonko level
And I believe yonkos like Kaido and Big Mom will come back, and all top tiers will play an important role, but there will be a tier of character that stands above everyone else in haki/fruit power:
Joyboy and Imu as the top of history
Luffy, Blackbeard, and Coby in their own tier below Joyboy/Imu, and above the PK characters like Roger, Whitebeard, Garp
EOS Coby vs current admirals would be like current Gear 5 Luffy vs tobi roppo, it's one-sided
Luffy vs Blackbeard
Luffy vs Imu
Blackbeard vs Imu
A possible 2v1 against Imu
All these fights are talked about a lot, but the first fight established in the series, before even Zoro vs Mihawk, is: Luffy vs Coby
I listened to this banger while writing this post, puts you in the hype mindset for it
And so, I made this thread to comemorate the FIRST EVER PROMISED FIGHT IN THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND FOR ME, THE ONE I LOOK FORWARD TO THE MOST =]
I HAVE A LOT OF LOVE FOR THIS FIGHT!!!
Pirate King Luffy vs Marine Admiral Coby
Coby is currently only YC level, but Luffy went from YC1 to yonko level in 2 weeks, it remains to be seen how the young hero's story will go, but it will be legendary in anime history
To end it with some speculation:
I believe SWORD will have its own admirals:
Coby, Smoker, and maybe just those two, or maybe someone else too
And that that will tie in with the story of the mainline marines abandoning the WG, when that happens, SWORD will split off and become its own standalone organisation too
